Hate to break it to you guys, but it's all fake.

CNN: Straght up Fake News
MSNBC: Far left conspiricy central
FOX: Conservitard controlled opposition.

NYT, WaPo, TheHill: Woke Idiots pushing woke idiot narrative
HuffPo, Slate, Vice: Far Left Conspiracy

NYP, WT, GatewayPundit: Based morons lapdogging based moron narrative
Breitbart, RedState, TheBlaze: Far right conspiracy

These are all designed to keep us distracted, divided, and arguing with each other constantly. Meanwhile the ones that rule over us laugh all the way to OUR banks, and keep real movements, like Occupy, at bay.
The only news site I read without feeling like there is a blatant agenda is Reuters.

What are some real news sources? I try to listen to BBC World and Reuters. Any other suggestions?

MSNBC really isn’t far left. They tried to be once but basically pushed all the real left commentators off to other venues. Their big morning show is Joe Scarborough who is middle of the road Republican. Then Maddow and Hayes are basically as left as they get. It’s more hard establishment Democrat

Really, Bernie Sanders has already won the election -- we'll have government running everything, all of us depending on govt handouts, and waiting in lines to buy things that there are shortages of. His dream come true!
People on this board are so uninformed. Yes because that’s exactly what happens in most UK countries which are basically the policies he argues for

Find an aggregate that covers topics your interested in. Bonus points if it has an editor who is knowledgeable on subject matter and can provide useful additional context. Its interesting to see the same stories covered with the big national players but also international players as well. You can see how spins are applied to certain pieces and really gain perspectives that can be useful. You will also see a lot of **** that would get 0.0% coverage stateside, maybe buried in one of the big sunday papers. Ive always like WSJ and NYT, I used to read them on slow afternoons when I worked in a coffee shop. God I think that was the best job ever..

Most unbiased and fact based are usually considered

AP, Reuter’s, Bloomerberg, PBS, the major network news stations (NBC, ABC, CBS), NPR, PBS, BBC.

That jump from the 18th -> 19th is scary stuff. Textbook example of exponential growth.

We're gonna be in a dark place 5-10 days from now, I'm afraid.

I don't know how to exactly interpret this but deaths have been increasing at a rate of 1.5 times per day over the last six days. I'm praying that it slows down significantly.

I am sitting in an 8 hour Zoom conference call ( was supposed to be onsite) and this thread is great relief.

EDIT I think I'd rather walk over hot coals barefoot.. MKK

Think Bernie came up in the New Left, but less on the intellectual side of it, so he invitably retains something from Marxism, but I wouldn't really consider him a Marxist. He's a social democrat, a reformist, but in countries like Sweden or Finland he'd probably be considered a centrist. He invokes the New Deal a lot, and Roosevelt was hardly a socialist. Keep in mind most people of his generation associate various socialist tendencies with what you think about the Cold War too, and everything's colored by the Soviet Union. (To me, the Soviet Union isn't worth defending. It was a weird utopian project arranged by weird intellectuals for a few years, then events cast it on a downward path into authoritarian terror, and the upshot after all that was just an anemic state capitalism.)

But it's also tough to say he isn't socialist or whatever; the terms' basically completely meaningless at this point. Probably worth separating Marxism as a political project and Marxism as an analytical method. The latter inevitably gets you to a political project ("Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world; the goal is to change it") but it's not a straight path. I wouldn't say his worldview is Marxist in any meaningful sense, but he's obviously drawn certain things from the broad strokes of the left. In electoral terms, unlike many Bernie people, I didn't see much difference between his political program and that of Warren's, and I preferred Warren in 2020 for reasons of banal bureaucratic competence.

And yeah I read the forms. I haven't played much this year since I had a kid last summer, though. Didn't play the Breeder's Cup and hadn't even been tracking the prep races, which I'm usually on top of. Go to Travers every year. Friday pick threes at Gulfstream in March using Race 1 at thetop is a little past even my peak level of degeneracy though, so kudos on that.

i don’t think he’s a social democrat at all. He’s called for 100 percent tax rates in the past and is for nationalization of industries. If he was a social democrat why doesn’t he just call himself that? (Because he’s not) He’s a socialist at the very least. Here what your saying on the rest. Makes sense. Except I think sanders is more different than warren than most people realize, but that conversation seems pointless at this point

hopefully Saratoga isn’t cancelled this year. Although the travers will probably have to be moved. Congrats on the new addition to the family!

I honestly don't know for sure, but I tend to stick to independent content creators on YouTube. Why? Well, the MSM is desperately trying to shut down independent journalism because they go against the MSM narrative and expose it for the ******** it really is. Also, they are not financed by mega corporations and only have their reputation to rely on for income. If they ruin their rep, they make no money.

The most middle of the road fence sitter that I know of is Tim Pool.

Finland, Sweden, and Norway all have heavy nationalization of certain industries and all are social democracies. Hell, Richard Nixon nationalized the railroad industry. This is what I mean by saying "socialism" being useless though; to me, socialism is a completely different way of ordering production (and therefore reordering society). But to most people it's like heavy state command of the economy, mainly because it's looked at on a spectrum from free market to Soviet Union. But that's really just state capitalism, it's just the state holding the capital and exploiting workers through the wage rather than some private person or group of joint stock holders. Social democracy is clearly preferable to me over the current state of affairs, but I'm for a completely different world, not just the present one with the edges sanded off.

Don't understand NY and CA. If you want to lock down those cities, there should be no travel in or out. Just having people stay home is not going to stop infected people from leaving and infecting other states.

Countries whose cultures are more focused on community are more likely to pull this off, no? I mean, the US is IMO a square peg/round hole situation since concepts of individual triumph and personal self-preservation are so ingrained in the vast majority of the country (including myself.)

What policies was he running on?

Medicare For All. An expansion of an already existing government program that would put us in line with similar healthcare models in Europe.

Reducing student loan debt. So basically a government bailout of federal loans like many others we’ve done in the past.

Closing corporate tax loopholes (basically fixing damage)

Raising taxes (again unless you are in principle against taxes and therefore society....)
