Crowd chanting "Let's go Red Sox"

Oh and to all you phony Connecticut Yuppies who jumped ship to the Yankees when the Sox were losing and now choose the Pats because they are the best, you can rot as far as I'm concerned.

Hey, don't lump all of us CT folk together. Although I'm as far from yuppie as it gets so maybe that's where the issue lies. My NYY hatred goes back generations.

I've been a Patriots season ticket holder since 1994 and haven't missed a home game in 14 years. I just corrected you and you admit to it, DUMB ASS. I swear, people like you give idiocy a bad name.

You've lost the context of this thread. The issue is cheering/chanting for baseball at inappropriate times during Patriots games, NOT whether the Krafts support Boston's baseball team. The cheering when McNair scored is the key example of what I'm talking about. I have absolutely no issue with cheering that is prompted by something the Patriots post on the scoreboard, whether it addresses baseball, basketball, or tiddly winks. Pay attention.
Red Sox had just scored. That is why the crowd went crazy. If the Krafts were OK with clips and frequent scoreboard updates from the Sox games then why shouldn't the fans react to them. Don't tell me the Krafts expect the fans to say oh look the Sox just won a pivotal playoff game. Oh well. Lets get pissed off because our D just sucked the big one during a regular season game which they are still ahead in. When the update are put on the Jumbotron it is understood that the crowd will react to them. If the Krafts minded they wouldn't put them up at all.

No I think he is talking about the same people who swore off the Pats because they did what was best for them and most Pats fans, and stayed in Foxboro instead of moving to Hartford.

I completely agree. That's not what I'm talking about at all. Go back and read this thread, you're not paying attention.

You say that the Pats hate when the fans cheer for the Red Sox at their games and find it disrespectful. Am I right?
Yet the Patriot in charge doesn't have a problem with it.

And the taxpayers of CT!

Did my hearing let me down, or was the crowd really chanting "Let's Go Red Sox"?

I just found that kind of odd, even with their prime time Game 7 matchup coming up.

It was awesome!

We were chanting in the parking lot at our tailgate, too, and about 50 people joined in all around us.

Later, in the game, I heard about three or four different "Let's Go, Red Sox" chants!

You gotta love the spirit and passion of that!

No matter what some of the segregationists on this board think, the Sox & the Pats (not to mention the C's & B's) are interwoven in the hearts and spirits of the true Boston sports fan.

Always have been, always will be.

It's not one or the other, it's all of them! And all of them are looking sweet right now. A great time to be a fan of our teams!

Right. They said it, not me. And just to make sure we're clear on this, they hate it when chanting/cheering for baseball occurs while the game is in play or at other inappropriate times (re., the McNair touchdown), not when updates are posted on the scoreboard.

We'll never know if Bob Kraft has a problem with it or not now, will we. For all we know he might have a huge problem with it, or none at all. Whatever he feels, he has to put the proper public face on it for obvious reasons. The players, on the other hand, have already spoken out about this on several occasions.

pretty simple solution to all this, you go to the pats game you cheer for the pat, you go to a sox game you cheer for the sox, i just dont get the logic of cheering a baseball game at a footballgame, maybe i should start a cheer fo my sons pee wee soccer team sunday

Well maybe the Krafts should tell the fans when they would like them to react to scoreboard updates. You know put a message " You can cheer for the update" or "you can not cheer for the updates". I think the Pats players should have been a little bit more concerned with their defensive performace on that drive (or day for that matter) and less about what the fans were reacting to. And from their comments eversince it would indicate they were far less upset and offended about it as you would like to think.
The point here is that the fans have a right to react and cheer something at the moment it happens. Maybe the fans should wait and cheer for a big first down catch during the to minute drill with the team running the no huddle after the game just to make sure that the O doesn't have any issuess relying the play and the snap count.

If you can't hander more than one thing at a time that is your problem. I think I'll cheer whatever I want and please at any event.

Tunescribe. Could you explain the whole Red Sox / Bank of America conection that you seem to refer to?

Go back and re-read the thread. It's all explained there.

Well, if you don't think tailgating is part of sports, especially football, then I would say you need to get out more!

I would invite to you one of my legendary tailgates, so you could experience it youself, if I thought you would behave yourself.

We had good food, cold beverages, everybody in Pats colors, flags flying. We even had a group of high school cheerleaders who were collecting money for their team come over and do Red Sox and Patriots cheers! It was awesome!

Guess those who don't get it, just don't get it. Whatever.

"I have no more use for this guy, your honor."

"Yutes? Did you say yutes?"

You can cheer for your sons pee wee soccer team all you want because last time I checked your free to do so. Telling people to not cheer for the Sox is ridiculous. Fans will cheer for whoever they want and no one really cares that don't like it. Given the fact that the Red Sox chant happened multiple times it seems like a lot of fans who actually attend the game disagree with you. They paid the price of admission so they can chant whatever they want.
