Well, this offseason continues to suck...and blow...at the same time
One of my favorite shows

ooof, this just feels like the beginning of the changing of the guard....but it was bound to happen. Hopefully, his replacement can be plug and play, or maybe it should be connect and coach.

I wish him all the best. But Goodness what a disastrous turn things have taken since the 8-0 start. 4-5 since then, major issues exposed offensively, have our worst finish since 2009, lose dante. May lose brady on top of all this

Hard to believe Brady would come back with him retiring. He remembers how 2015 went. Throw in Thuney probably leaving and Andrews future in doubt.

You have BB and according to some here he'll penny and dime his way to Dynasty 3.0. There's nothing to worry about. Who needs to worry when you can throw Stidham in there or some other street QB that agrees to the patsfans.com senior discount of 18mil per year. We are golden. Sign some more defensive players and lets roll baby.

That makes no sense.
I'll elaborate: in my opinion, Brady's presence won't improve matters much in 2020 regarding prospects for a deep playoff run, which look to be slim either way.

Ian said stop bullying the new guys for saying stupid shyt. Reported. :D

Thank you. While I am so angry now that I just smashed every appliance in my house, I understand why you did it. It will eventually mold me into being a more tolerant anonymous online presence.

Remaining Patriots committed to 2020, coaches and players

Other players who vocally wish to play for Patriots in 2020

AB (Antonio Brown/Ankle Bracelet)

I wonder what browns forty time is lugging that ankle bracelet around?

We've had "deep playoff runs" before when chances looked slim.

While I agree with your analysis, a lot depends on the health of Andrews, Cannon and Develin. We do have money for the offense, even after Brady or another vet costing $20M of cap space. Thuney is gone, but we have the "normal" amount to work with. Also, we are likely to use a couple of "high" (top 4 rounds) draft choices on OL's.
Needing WR and TE help isn't exactly a new problem.

The defense will be OK. An extension of Hightower would allow us to sign McCourty or VanNoy. The rest of the transactions are normal stuff.

I'll elaborate: in my opinion, Brady's presence won't improve matters much in 2020 regarding prospects for a deep playoff run, which look to be slim either way.

They were, basically, a healthier OL, healthier Edelman, and a non-cut AB away from likely being back in the Super Bowl, or at least the AFCCG, despite all the other problems. So I don't see where you're getting that from.

I guess that trying to turn Marshall Newhouse into a left tackle was what finally convinced Dante to retire.

Yes, Dante was frustrated when Newhouse was the best that management would secure for him.

BTW, what was a the team's W-L record when Newhouse was at LT?

I've gone into detail about this in other threads but generally, the team's foundation organizationally and roster-wise isn't as solid vs. recent years. Too many important parts are in play with the coaching staff, front office and free agency to take an AFCE title and playoff appearance for granted. Things are further complicated by a brutal, brutal schedule. Again, this is just my opinion. It's early and maybe things will come together better than anticipated.

I agree with the parts in bold. It's your analysis from there where I think you go off the rails.

Where is it you believe I "go off the rails"?

I thought Scar had a pretty awful year last year along with McD. Might be good for a change.
If we hadn't had him last year Brady would probably be in a wheelchair about now. Can't make chicken salad out of ****.
