Thank You Mr. Kraft - New England Patriots nearly became the St. Louis Stallions

Kraft did not in any way "pay back" the $72M to the state. Any "repayment" was tied to parking in and around the stadium and paid for by Foxboro and surrounding towns. "an administrative fee shall be charged to all parking spaces licensed by the appropriate town within the parking and traffic management zone, which shall be collected by the towns of Sharon, Walpole and Wrentham and the authority and returned to the commonwealth for deposit in the general fund." (source - authorizing legislation).
This is from the authorizing legislation, MGL Ch 16 Sec 1-13 of 1999.
An "administrative fee" that, when it comes down to it, Kraft pays to those towns. The market will bear $50 (or whatever it is for a given lot) for parking, so whether or not that fee is there, Kraft would charge $50 (or whatever) for parking. So the fee is coming out of Kraft's pockets.

Remember the whole "moving to Hartford thing"? I barely do, but was that under Kraft or someone else?

It was Kraft. The question is how much you believe it was legit or not (i.e. was he always planning to break the Hartford deal or not?).

It doesn’t make up for releasing AB
AB's own AGENT wants nothing to do with AB!

People need to give it a rest. AB is mentally unstable and would only be detriment to any team. The thing to regret is signing him in the first place, which prompted the release of D Thomas, who could have been helpful down the stretch.

I thought this thread was in reference to Meg The Stallion at first glance!

Btw, in the aftermath of Orthwein selling to Krafty Bob, Bldg 19 had an assortment of St Louis Stallions gear....I worked at Bldg 19 at the time (don't laugh, college student paying way through) and copped a Stallions baseball hat...still have it somewhere

He gives red seat snobs priority over the blue seat core for Super Bowl tickets.
Well I sure wish he gave red jersey lifelong fans priority over numb nuts blue jersey bandwagoners oh the heck with it

That had to do with the St. Louis bid to land an NFL expansion franchise, not Orthwein. The St. Louis Stallions were a finalist for one of two expansion franchises along with Baltimore, Memphis, Carolina and Jacksonville. Carolina and Jacksonville won.

Sarcasm mother ****er. Do you speak it?

Fans seem to be criticizing Mr. Kraft because he is making a profit, but show me another owner who does not have the same motivation.

Meanwhile the predictable bashing of Kraft continues.. but consider some of the other owners:
Jimmy Haslam wants to review the game plan on Friday so he can approve it.
Jerry Jones who is not only the owner by GM as well.
Ambassador Woody Johnson who has allowed mediocrity to exist for the Jets since 1969
Jim Irsay never mind.
Dan Snyder in DC.. another football genius, who allows his team to be mired in mediocrity...

There are are 27 other owners in the NFL varying degrees of interest in their team, owners are what they are very rich men or families who have made a huge investment in their team and expect a reasonable return.

Perhaps Bob’s next business venture could be to bottle the spit that is constantly building up in the corners of his lips. I know quite a few people on here that would pay cold, hard cash for that stuff. I see some massive margins there.

And yes, I gave the previous post a GENIUS emoji!
