A simplistic view of Hyde.
Hyde will be 30 next September. This past season more than 33% of his rushing yards came in 3 games vs 2 of the worst rush defenses in 2019.
31st Jax - 90 yards
31st Jax - 160 yards
29th KC - 116 Yards
366 yards
Yeah, that's how distributions work. 33% of the NFL season is 5 games so putting up 33% of your stats in three games isn't that surprising. You can say the same thing about Dalvin Cook, more than 33% of his rushing yards came in three games too.
The last 4 games of Texans season the dude faded big time.
Tam 17 att - 27 yds
Tenn 4 att - 13 yds
Buff 16 att - 48 yds
KC 13 att - 44 yds
50 att - 122 yds = 2.4 yac
Good luck with Hyde.
I see two very good rushing defenses (Bills and Bucs), one game where all the starters were rested, and one game that swung from 24-0 to 28-24 in 8 minutes so you probably shouldn't draw any statistical trends from it.
I'll give you that he's 30 but he just had his best year so not sure what to make of that. Texans already made him a two year offer though. Like I said, he's fine. He's probably dead middle if you ranked all the RBs in the NFL.
If you really think Houston should trade into the first round to draft an RB you might be the only person who's worse at GM than Bill O'Brien.
