Josh McDaniels News and Rumors

The Browns apparently want to finish all the interviews they have lined up. They have that luxury now as they are the only head coaching vacancy so they are no longer competing with any other team and can take their time.

Curious to see who the new coaches would be.

I know Vikings OC Kevin Spefanski, Eagles DC Jim Schwartz, and then Josh are left to interview and they already interviewed Eric Bieniemy, Greg Roman, and Robert Saleh. Schefter says they want someone in place by Saturday.

Only thing that could keep Josh from the job is Depodesta and Him not hitting it off.
Some Browns fans think that Kraft is pushing BB out the door and ready to hand the Patriots HC job to Josh.
This speculation is crazy

The thing that makes me think Josh won't go there is the job has been open a million times it seems in the last 10 years, and he's never been interested in going there before. Are Baker Mayfield and OBJ really that much of a draw? I think not. As someone said on the radio in the last few days, the owner changes coaches as often as he changes his underwear. Plus, there is the Mrs. McD factor. My understanding is she is a NE girl and has never wanted to leave.

It’s more like the QB. He regresssed so much. He’s a big talker. Signs to stay for josh and wait. OBJ could be dealt this year again.

Apparently there are Pats fans who feel that Josh getting the Browns' gig is a dream for us.

Browns gig is a dream job with all that youth even Ray Charles can see:eek: that.:D

Gotta start somewhere... If he gets us a Top 10 pick I won't complain. :D

A promotion from say Offensive Coordinator to Head Coach incurs ZERO compensation

Why is mcdaniels considered such a good oc?

How'd his offense do this year? It was hideous and apparently so complex it's almost impossible to learn.

Complexity is ok if it produces results. His doesn't. And he most likely approved of slow as molasses harry and sanu. He also drafted tebow in the first round.

Good riddance to McDaniels. Only problem is belichick will probably appoint his 20 something son as the oc.

Even putting aside the long and distinguished career Josh McD has had (Pats offense a powerhouse for the whole decade), it's not even been 12 months when in Feb last year at the SuperBowl quite literally his insight to try a 2 TE 2RB grouping forced the breakthrough go-ahead TD drive. Without Josh we don't win that game. Stop talking nonsense please. Josh has been fantastic.

I think he's talking about the McDaniels trading us a top 10 pick?

Would not be surprised if the Browns are waiting on Bienemy.

McD imo F'd himself when he screwed the Colts the way he did.

Maybe while Josh is in Cleveland he could recruit OBJ for TFB's swan song ;-)

If MCD leaves, no doubt his replacement would be Chad O'Shea

IMO, Josh will probably take Casserio with him too.....it will depend on whether the Browns are willing to hand over the keys to McD & Casserio.....

That speculation is not crazy at all. Bob Kraft is a foolish old coot if he blithely lets go his talented, sought-after HC and GM candidates in their early 40s who the organization has been grooming for 15 years to keep a 68 year old HC.

It would be as foolish as if they still had Garappolo and traded him away to keep a 43 year old Tom Brady.

A 68 year old HC has a limited shelf life just as the 43 year old QB does. Not sure why so many of you can’t see that or acknowledge it.

The Krafts and Patriots fans everywhere will rue the day that happens. I’m hoping the Krafts can keep them all together like they did two years ago when they got Josh back at the last minute from the Colts. Hopefully, they spread the money and promises to McDaniels and Caserio as thickly as needed to keep them. There’s no salary cap for coaches or executives.
