Want to try to keep this limited to news regarding the guys that have been/rumored to be/or confirmed will be interviewed for the 2024 Patriots Coaching Staff & Front Office positions... In addition, any firings will be noted... Keep in mind when posting: This thread is for information tracking: It's not *who we want* but who we have, who has left, who we are going to interview, who we are going to hire.

There has been little news of far, but names have started to leak out of Ft. Foxboro...

Updating the post with a spreadsheet... easier to keep track of the moves...

Coach Mayo is interviewing Tem Lukabu for the Defensive Coordinator role...

Don't know much about him, other than what the article states... worked under Schiano at Rutgers and was at Boston College before moving to the Pros...

Mass Live is reporting that Steve & Brian Belichick have been offered roles on the staff

I can see Brian retaining his role with the DB's, as their play has been pretty good under his tuteledge...

Steve, I can't see him in any role other than DC... which may be a deal breaker if Mayo wants to go a different direction...

IMO - Mayo will promote either Demarcus Covington or Steve Belichick to DC, but has to interview an external minority candidate to do so. Lukabu satisfies that but he's also just a good candidate too. Per Callahan's point above, if he thinks some guys will leave with Bill on that side of the ball, maybe he can try to bring Lukabu over in another position.
So does this mean Steve turned down the offer from Mayo? Or does it mean his offer was not for DC? The latter makes no sense, so if he is now interviewing DC candidates I'm guessing Steve is rolling with his dad (to Jerryland I would guess).

I think this can be classified under "due diligence"

Even if Mayo interviewed Steve for the DC job and Steve wanted to say yes, Mayo can't actually hire him until he does an external minority interview. Rooney Rule.
This seems strange to me. If they want to elevate Covington, they still have to abide by the Rooney rule?

I thought Steve already had the title? Wouldn't that eliminate any minority rule?

Edit: I see he was listed as the LBs coach. For some reason, I thought when they signed Mayo last year and gave him the Assistant HC or whatever title they gave him that they gave Steve the DC title.
Correct, New England has not had an actual Defensive Coordinator for a few years
yup... "DeFacto" is not actually a recognized title
Head coach – Bill Belichick - Removed, "Mutual Parting of the Ways"
Is that the official term? What's wrong with "Fired"?
I can't wait to send Judge to Alaska to coach high school.
I'd much rather keep BOB and give him Asst. HC role. Just getting rid of Judge will be great.
Maybe, just maybe, its a show of respect for the guy who lead this organization for 24 years?

Yeah, no maybes about it. It is.

Have an issue with it, go tell someone else.
I have an axe to grind and you will placate my hurt feelings by ****ting on the former coach (henceforth to be referred to as The Former Coach) who I blame for Tom Brady leaving.
