Stefanski (DePodesta's guy) and Schwartz still to go before McD. Word in Cleveland media is that McD is still #1 and Haslam will fire DePodesta as part of the deal.
Wow bet Depodesta is praying someone blows Haslam away

I’m not sure those words have ever been spoken in the history of mankind...
I bet you BB saw the original Browns team as a dream job. Learned the hard way that you make your own dreams.

That movie “they live” is all you need to know about ohio

I am hoping the Browns hire someone before McD interviews. IMO, McD being here = Brady more likely re-upping here.

Word out of Cleveland is Haslam wants a new HC by this Saturday. Is McD LIFU (last in, first up)?

From piecing together different reports, it sounds like DePodesta is pushing for Stefanski in order to save his own job because McDaniels would want him gone.

McDaniels leaving will be bad news for patients chances of contending for several years, in my opinion. If he goes, who is BB going to bring in asa replacement. Almost certainly it will be somewhat not as accomplished as JM.

Probably some scrub who used to get coffee and doughnuts for Steve Belicheck and picked up JM's kids after school.

I'd take that bet. I think BB circa January 1991 saw the Giants job as his dream job, but that job was taken by Bill Parcells so he went to Cleveland.

Health concerns would cause Parcells to retire (for the first time) just a few short months later. I think both Belichick and the Giants were kicking themselves based on the damnable timing of it all because Belichick would have rather been HC of the NYG than Cleveland, and the Giants would have promoted him in a heartbeat over Ray "Mustgo" Handley.

Why is mcdaniels considered such a good oc?

How'd his offense do this year? It was hideous and apparently so complex it's almost impossible to learn.

Complexity is ok if it produces results. His doesn't. And he most likely approved of slow as molasses harry and sanu. He also drafted tebow in the first round.

Good riddance to McDaniels. Only problem is belichick will probably appoint his 20 something son as the oc.

Gotta start somewhere... If he gets us a Top 10 pick I won't complain. :D

I agree with ya completely but knowing his reverence for Paul Brown I would think a franchise like the (original) Browns was attractive to him as a legacy piece and potential “dream job” material, even if it would have been secondary to the Giants job. He didn’t feel that way about all the old teams, I recall reading on multiple occasions in the past that he would never have even considered Chicago because of ownership concerns. Which I guess is ironic considering how his tenure under Modell turned out.

Moronic. McDaniels has been outstanding.

Anybody know if haslam and the colts owner are tight? Could be really bad for McDaniels if they are.

It won't matter. Haslam will try to hire McDaniles. However, he is the type of owner who always listens to the last guy he talked to. This makes for a horribly dysfunctional organization. So long as DePodesta (the football equivalent of Rasputin) is still employed by the Browns, McDaniels won't take the job.

If Haslam clears house and can only talk to McDaniels & McDaniels "guys" (likely Caserio), then McDaniels will be the next coach of the Browns.

I see Ziegler linked more to McDaniels than caserio.
