Bedard: Belichick “rumblings”

If BB goes, trade most offensive pieces and tank the next few seasons. No kidding. Draft Lawrence and let that be that. Then hire the best coach available college or pros.
Then redo the dynasty and keep rolling.

Antonio Brown and Jimmy G trade.
I don’t think Kraft is becoming like Snyder or Jerry as a meddler. The Jimmy G trade was a very unique situation, where we’d have to make a guy with a couple of starts under his belt the highest paid QB in league, while cutting ties with best player in NFL history. And AB cut was because of NFL, which is why no other team picked him up.

It’s been proven that your jimmy g bs is exactly bs
AB has shot his way off 3 teams in less than a year

Jimmy g was a Belichick decision

The JimmyG trade brought us another Super Bowl victory, so... what would BB complain about that?

And really, it should have brought us 2 more SB victories if not for a curious BB decision (Malcolm Butler).

I'm just answering about the supposed interferences, not their outcomes since I would stick with Brady too but Bedards take is about that and BB having total control, if Kraft calls for strike 3 BB may decide OK enough.

Antonio Brown and Jimmy G trade.
Don't forget how his getting caught buying handjobs and Kraft Video Productions f-ups impact football operations too. And then his failure to have any sort of spine with the league after Deflategate - lost picks affect football operations too.

No appreciation for 20 years of "pretty good" service and results I see.

Go take Gnats Job Bill, I'd love to see you fall on your face. And take McD with you. Bill's probably having a tantrum. Robert wont let him ditch Brady despite his best efforts to neuter the offense and run TB out of town.

Kraft didn’t interere on the JG trade. With JG expiring in 2017 and Brady expiring in 2019 and with big cap hits if Brady was cut or traded in 2017 the JG trade was a necessary, foregone conclusion.

If there was interference at all, it was when Brady was extended from end-of-2017 to end-of-2019. That was the moment where for all intents and purposes the decision was made to get rid of JG and I would love to know the true story of that extension. If they hadn’t done that extension they would have had the option to move to JG in 2018 for no cap hit other than his new contract.

Well, we've already had Belichick to the Giants already (New York Post)

and Belichick to the Cowboys (Skip Bayless)

I don't know which of those sources is less credible. I don't think Bedard is that kind of a clickbait speculator by any means, but I don't see any sign from his latest press conferences that Belichick doesn't think he is still in control and committed to carrying on.

Maybe it's just me but I'd tend to go "for it on 3rd and 2"
Funny thing is they made that 3rd and 2 ;) just crappy spot by refs in Indy who it later was shown, were Colts fans

Agreed. But he really hated doing it.
Why would he hate keeping the greatest qb of all time?
Sure he would have loved to keep jimmy as the backup but his contract was up and as a free agent he couldn’t be paid what he would get offered to be a backup.
I think the decision worked out just fine.

going for it on 3rd and 2...)
/QUOTE]

I would hope any coach would go for it on 3rd and 2. If you don't get it there is always 4th down to punt or kick the FG

Thanks Greg. But we read twitter too and have developed the skill of discerning baseless rumors with credible sourcing. I used to know where you stood on that spectrum, but now ... not so sure.

I put a bit of stock into it. If Bill is indeed thinking of moving on from Brady I’m sure he thinks Kraft will be upset about that, and I would guess he is gearing up for an argument there. Hard to say what has really gone on behind the scenes and how Bill really feels but there are many little things/little ways Kraft has potentially been a thorn in his side in recent years. Bill could use those instances as leverage to tell Kraft to back off and let him do his job or he could just leave. Or, it could all be a bunch of BS. I’d be lying if I said Bill didn’t seem a little disgruntled lately but he is also perpetually disgruntled-looking so can’t really read anything there.

We know nothing real about Bill's contract. Terms, salary, length, nothing. Even if he absolutely wanted to take the NYG job, he might not be able to. If he was worth a 1st round pick 20 years ago...what now? Kraft could pay him $20m for all we know, he is the GM too, do they want to pay that?

It would be the ultimate BB-ish move by Kraft to trade one 1st rounder for him in 2000 and turn him back to NJ for like 10 picks in 2020 at age 67...better a year too early, right?

They are both going to be HC and QB of the NEPatriots next season.

We are giving Bedard and Bayless credibility to form a debate on this subject, considering they are both complete morons and click baiters.

BB has this dynasty built how he wants it and they don’t have a QB in the wings to be SB ready or better than Brady for next season.

With that I would just stand and say “your honor the defense rests”

He hated parting with JG. I’m not saying he hated keeping Brady.
