I’m not sure how you can call Edelman an underachiever when you look at his production vs his injuries. Dude gutted it out.

Jason McCourty is an overachiever. The defense is a much lesser unit without him. Add Folk to overachiever.

Edelman...lol...please. How could that thought even cross your mind.

Watson is exactly who I thought he was. Didn’t like him in his first stint with the team and figured I would like the broken down version much less.

It would help to clarify if injuries count for anything here.

Maybe beng a bit hard on jules and wynn but the rest are or should be looking at themselves

It’s incredible that 20 years of being the most maniacal competitor and one of the hardest workers in the game doesn’t buy a certain QB the benefit of the doubt.

I would like to see brady under center with the 49er offense. Asking a 42 year old QB to do miracles with snafu sanu and N Keal i can’t get separation beyond 15 yards harry is a little too much.

Edelman on the list is nuts. Had one of his best seasons as a pro and was double covered a lot of that. js’s xmas, he was the mvp on that putrid offense and one of the few bright spots besides Thuney and Wynn.

Edelman in the underachiever category is ********. WTF games are you watching?

He should be required to turn in his fan card for even suggesting this.

Ben Watson has always been an average TE. He shouldn't be one an underachieving list. He is what he is.

Lacosse? What was expected of him?

Michel is what he's always been. Product of the OL.

Sanu has been exposed. For years he was leeching off of Julio Jones. He got favorable coverages because of that.

Harry didn't even play most of the season. He's a rookie. Wtf? Lol.

Edelman? He's being held together by duct tape. The man is clearly injured. Yet he still produces. Suggesting his name is ludicrous.

Cannon is most definitely underperforming. He's been horrible.

Brady belongs on the underachieving list.

I said in TC LaCosse was going to have 40 catches, 500yds 5tds this year.

Ugh.

You better put some respect on Mr. Watson’s name. You don’t play 15 years by always being one of the worst TEs in the NFL.

Sorry. He's not terrible. But it's certainly a huge step down from Gronk.

I dutifully accept my mistake on Edelman...he should not be on there because when he is healthy he is incredible. That was a bad mistake. Thank you to those who corrected me. I hereby remove him from the list and accept banishment on a temporary basis to serve as Roger Goodell's PR sidekick for 2 weeks.

He was incredible and he wasn't even healthy. So your newest comment on him makes no sense as well.

He’s 39. It’s amazing he’s even still playing. Completely expected that he’s huge drop from Gronk at this point. The miss in the offseason was Jared Cook. For this season he would’ve helped minimize that loss more than anyone that was available through FA or the draft.

Ok, we accept your fan resignation and wish you well in all your future endeavors.

Ridiculous list in general

In particular:

Without Jules, there was no Pass Offense at all, so how he can be considered to have underachieved is beyond me, especially with all his injuries.

Gillmore...exceeded expectations most of the season, but his attitude these past few weeks and his performance against Fitz yesterday definitely tarnish his accomplishments...and take him out of the DPOY discussion without a doubt. So maybe another category...like, "almost but not quite overachieved."

We probably should temper any judgments about Michel by remembering the condition the o-line was in for most of the season.

Sanu? Late season addition of a former premium player. Never got in synch with a very demanding QB who times his throws by the microsecond and measures his windows in centimeters. He played the way I would have expected him to play...some flashes of brilliance amid a lot of missed turns, bad cuts and looking over the wrong shoulder plays.

As for Brady...I honestly no longer have "expectations" for his "achievement" by any normal definition of those terms...he was 42 this year and finally started to show his age...but there's no way I would ever say that he had "underachieved," especially given the O-line he was supposed to play behind.

Brady was who he is...a 42 year old QB playing without a big threat receiver, behind a poor Line in a league where the average HOF QB retirement age is 37.5...he has given us fans more than we could ever reasonably have expected. Just stepping on the field and playing competitive football at the NFL level was "overachieving" for him in my book.
