They would have made a run in 88 if they had played Flutie instead of Eason. It was Berry's worst mistake as a coach. Grogan was hurt. (Grogan was always the best choice when healthy, btw).Ah.
APF is a Flutie fanatic. Hell he thinks the NEP would have won the SB in 1988 if Flutie has started instead of Eason or Grogs.
My position is Flutie was a successful NFL QB. Same category as someone like Matt Cassell or Chad Pennington.
And he was much better than Matt Cassel. Pennington a better comp maybe? And remember, Flutie was 36 by the time he got back in the league, and he got Eason'd in Buffalo his first year (by Ralph Wilson).
