It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Hard to imagine how they could afford to pay any combination of 2/3 of those players, let alone all 3, but it would be something to see.I think they crash and burn in the playoffs and go after OBJ and Gronk comes back.
That's what history tells us after a unit sucks for a season. It doesn't tell us that Brady is a quitter when things get tough.
No that’s the antiBBAha!
Now we know for certain that Bill (Cut his own mother) Belichick has been posting here as QM!
Kraft doesn’t have to force a football genius to want the GOAT at QB. There is no argument.(Alex Trebek voice) Ooooooh, so sorry, @TommyBrady12 . You may want to re-read the OP and that article s-l-o-w-l-y.
It's not about merely playing. It's about WHERE he will be playing. He's not retiring - - he has a business model to prove.
Please show me where he says he wants to stay in New England.
"I think I've said for a long time, my tune hasn't changed. I hope to continue playing," Brady told Gray." Something is missing from the end of that quote, Tommy.
Nothing would make me happier than if he re-signs with the Patriots for the amount of money Belichick will offer him for next season and beyond. Belichick isn't going to make a charitable donation to Brady. The key is how much of a charitable donation does Brady want to make to the New England Patriots. He owes them nothing at this point. I'm not convinced Kraft is going to be able to force Belichick to arrange the cap in favor of paying Brady.
When the house went up for sale, others jumped to conclusions. I was NOT and said plainly that he has sold homes before - - no big deal. But, breaking personal ties with the LOCAL arm of a charity that he has personally been involved with for 15 years, in order to be involved with them OUTSIDE ('globally" as he put it), is a far bigger tell. He realizes Kraft is not going to win the argument with Belichick.
That is true, but there is absolutely no precedent for the GOAT qb & coach being able to coexist this long. It’s one of the most remarkable things to watch. Usually, great ones can’t keep their egos in check (the Beatles for example).Kraft doesn’t have to force a football genius to want the GOAT at QB. There is no argument.

Sorry, but your original argument was that because he's leaving his position at Best Buddies it's a strong indication he's leaving NE. Right now, Brady says he wants to play football in 2020. The odds are he's thinking of staying in NE because no one wants a 43 year old QB as a starter and no team has reached out to him about signing him in the offseason (because that would be tampering). So the connection between Best Buddies and him leaving NE are tenuous. At this point, how can Brady possibly know he's going elsewhere in 2020?
You don't think the pats will give him a 20mil one year deal? What's the dead money on his 2020 fake contract? If you are correct, and I don't believe you are, no way Brady would take that pay. I do think Brady may want a 2 year deal and BB might not go there unless the second year is very favorable for them.Belichick will not pay Brady $16-20 million per year at the age 43. Not happening. He would have to give Belichick (not Kraft) a ridiculous discount. It's not happening. I wish it would and evidently, so do you. The difference is you are thinking with your heart.
.
I buy your reading and argument.
But I think the Patriots blew it last year by not giving him a multiple year contract (2 years) at current money.
Yes, I know that with an old QB, his final year in the league is not going to be pretty, and that you might not get your money's worth, but this is a guy that has taken below-market contracts over and over again. Plus, you don't have anyone to replace him and do better with.
It just seems short-sighted by the Patriots.
Wrong. Read the article you linked slowly again. He specifically says he wants to play football. He specifically leaves out "Patriots". The inference is obvious.
The LA Chargers will throw money at him. So will the Jaguars, Buccaneers and alot of other teams with far more cap space and desperation for fan support than New England.
Sorry, but that is reality.
No one would be happier if Brady takes a cap-friendly/ham sandwich deal to stay in new England for next year and several years. I would do cartwheels down the street if that happened. You, evidently are expecting either 1) Brady plays for a ham sandwich or 2) Belichick wipes tears from his eyes and gushes "I don't care about the a team roster, I love my Tommy."
Reality?

Why not? That is basically bottom basement non Rookie contract Quarterback money.
Quarterback Contracts and Salaries | Over The CapQuarterback Contracts and Salaries | Over The Cap
So basically the question is for 16-20m would you rather have 43 year old Tom Brady or Andy Dalton?
There's no way it's a done deal he's leaving. I think he's either preparing for the possibility of leaving or to the next phase of his life when he retires.
Where is he getting a similar QB to contend with?Absolutely - - it isn't a done deal. He could definitely say, "I'll play in Foxboro for a ham sandwich for a HC who, over 25 years as a HC has repeatedly shown absolutely no roster decision warm bloodedness or nostalgia for a player near his expiration date."
You're right. I would never say never. I'd put the odds of that at somewhere between 8-10%.
.
Of course he will. He just paid him 21.5 for this year.Belichick will not pay Brady $16-20 million per year at the age 43. Not happening.
