Unfortunately, I'm not overreacting at all, just being realistic. Like I said, hopefully it's nothing but if the footage is nefarious, I don't even want to think about the consequences because let's be honest, they'll be severe.

As a quick point, from the tapes for Cameragate, they were cutting back and forth from the displays on the field showing down/distance/time to the sideline. If there's evidence that they were doing something like that again, then, yeah, I expect Belichick is going to get suspended.

I'm sure there may be a fine, which would obviously hurt Kraft and if I recall correctly, Bill was also personally fined the last time. But if this were to ultimately turn into anything, I'd be surprised if the league didn't suspend him this time.

I think it depends what they taped and how.

There is an “ignorance” precedent suffered by Sean Payton. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

I don’t think they cheated but I do think some of the people at the top of this organization shouldn’t be running a little league team, let alone an NFL team.

With everything that has happened in the past how do we let a film crew operate without letting the NFL and the Bengals know? How does the film crew not know the rules? How come a rep from the team is not there to ensure nothing like this happens?

It took 3 SBs since Spygate to wash some of that stink off, even though it was undeserved. Now they let this happen? What an embarrassment.

They had the Browns' permission, it wasn't exactly a secret. It doesn't suggest anything unless there is some kind of evidence of these guys at every upcoming opponent.

I'm probably still in denial but I just can't get my head around the fact Bill Belichick thinks he needs to resort to subterfuge to prepare for the 1-12 Bungles. All the reports sound really damning and I've yet to see a satisfying counterargument. If the NFL takes 8 months on this I'll lose my mind.

And again, this is just a discussion thread and everyone is allowed to voice concern, etc. I'm going with the mindset that it's going to take a lot for this to amount to anything and Belichick sounded pretty confident this afternoon. But I'm just being honest that until I hear the all-clear from the league, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little concerned about this. I think I've made that part clear.

That’s what the Patriots story is though. Goodell might not believe them. If the tape is innocuous enough he might be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. But if it’s not, he may just assume they’re lying and drop the hammer.
