Nah, I just used to be a wigger (oh no, guys! Can I say that!?) when I was younger and was under the influence of various substances and Eminem’s music. So sometimes the slang comes out. I’ve since grown into a respectable white guy with a lot of Ralph Lauren Polo shirts who enjoys a nicely mowed lawn.

I am Italian. Just a diehard ND fan. My gramps was a 2 sport athlete who played at a catholic school and was recruited by ND for football. We’re Italian but we all love Nd.

Is pulling a guy’s helmet off really suspension worthy? If that was the only thing that happened, that would been hella soft.

Yes. If just grabbing a face mask is worth a penalty using it to rip the helmet off is worth a suspension. If the helmet is twisted that could break the neck and kill the guy. Especially if the chinstrap is buckled. Duh.

Right, the landscape now on concussion awareness is so much greater than it was then.

Think about it.

They have sideline tents now where people have to be seen right away if the ref suspects a player of having a concussion.

They moved the kickoffs back to discourage returns and thus limit injury potential.

They changed the onside kick rules for player safety to help avoid concussions.

The league mandated helmet changes to increase safety to help prevent concussions.

They changed the roughing the quarterback rule to include ANY contact to the head.

There is an official concussion protocol that a player faces before he can return to the field (as opposed to the old 'how many fingers am I holding up' test).

As soon as it happened I knew there was no way they were letting him off easy (regardless of any past precedent).
