I noticed today that Darnold is second in the league in passes intercepted with 9. Baker Mayfield and Jameis Winston are tied for 1st with 12 INTs. Of course, Winston and Mayfield have played 8 games while Darnold has only played 5. You have to give Darnold credit for trying to make up for lost time and sucking more efficiently.

Darnold was horrendous in 2018 and horrendous in 2019. I love how Jets fans act like he was at all-pro level before. He’s basically the same player as before and will always be. The only thing he took “a step back” from is the completely unwarranted and stupid offseason hype. Yes, it’s possible that Gase and Darnold both suck independently of one another. I’ve pointed out that Gase typically makes no difference, better or worse, for quarterbacks, showing that Cutler and Tannehill has almost identical stats with and without Gase.
