A modest proposal:

As the league has no mechanism for removing the worst owners in professional sports, we should repurpose the Jets and stop pretending they’re an actual football team that’s trying to win. Keep them around as punishment for players who misbehave. Hold out for a year? Get traded to the Jets. Break a law? Get traded to the Jets. Embarrass yourself and the league? Traded to the Jets. This can hold true for coaches as well. Stop televising their games. Pretend they don’t exist. We realized some time ago that they only exist as a franchise for punishment of its players and fans. It’s time to recalibrate to that reality.
