What about his salary? Or are you saying that you’re just giving them our draft picks because you think the Pats draft badly? Hard to tell.We draft badly. Go ahead and give them the picks.

Nuanced, but i would sayBecause he's a good head coach.
Their 2nd will be what, late 30s, low 40s? I bet they finish 6-10, 7-9..Best I would do is trading out first round pick for their second round pick. Plus some kind of sweetener on top.

A week ago I would’ve been pissed if we traded a first for Howard. I’m starting to come around to going “all in” and loading up for Brady.
I’d take Howard over Williams. Younger, cheaper, and Williams is already holding out, so there is already discontent there (either with awful Skins organization and their docs or wanting more cash via new contract, which he has said) and being out all year, with no Training Camp, he might be more likely to get hurt compared to OJ, who is in game shape. Finally, there seems to be a better chance Wynn comes back and stays healthy,Interested to hear everyone’s thoughts: the Patriots trade a first round pick tomorrow. Who would you rather it be for, Howard or Trent Williams?
I would say Williams.
The only way I'd pick up Williams would be if the Redskins paid his salary here. Listen. The guy WAS a great LT. But he hasn't played in over a year. He's coming off a serious injury. I have no idea what kind of shape he's in. He's had no TC or practices in our system, ETC, ETC, ETC. Any Williams trade should be dead on arrival at this point.
As for Howard, I'd take him in a nano second. Coming out he was hailed as the most complete TE prospect in a decade. So forget about what he could bring to the passing game, he kid was a great blocker both inline and as an HB at Alabama. The FIRST thing he'd do if he came would be to improve OUR run game.
So how do we make it happen. We appeal to Arians' need of the immediate. If he is only worried about winning next week, we give him something that will help him win next week.
I'd propose that for OJ Howard, the Pats give him one of our 3rd round picks, PLUS JC Jackson.
Everyone is looking for a starting caliber CB, especially one with some size. Jackson fills that need with a proven player in an area where we have an abundance of talent.
Its a need for need swap. They need CB's,. We need TE's. I would even opine that Jackson has been more productive as a CB, than Howard has been as a TE. So why wouldn't Arians take that deal. BTW- I was even thinking about doing the same deal, but with JJWilliams as the CB, but given what we saw in the preseason, I wouldn't give up so early on Williams. It his hard to teach 6'4 to a CB.
So when the only thing that is keep Williams from the field is JC Jackson, then lets use that asset to get a desperate need, AND get Williams on the field.
Just a thought.

If we are trading a player at a deep postion it should be Rex BurkheadI hate this. They not only get a proven good player on a rookie deal but also a pick on top for a TE that for whatever reason can't get on the field ?

than Gronk making a triumphant return.

....and the reason?I hate that idea.
