Looks like he confirms the rumor Shannon Sharpe stated (who Brown doesn’t like) that they just didn’t want to pay him.
I think they would’ve been fine with paying a top 5 WR a 5-6m dollar cap hit, as long as he produced and didn’t act up or cause a distraction. After all, they signed him to that deal 11 days earlier!

Where Brown gets confused (God bless him) is that they had until Monday before the bonus was due, and released him beforehand.

That doesn't make any sense to me. They agreed to pay him the money, he's here for 1 game (in which he makes an immediate impact in the offense), then they change their mind based purely on the money they agreed to 11 days ago? I don't buy it.

It's expected that AB reasoning doesn't make sense for a normal person
He's in another dimension, where he is the victim of all this

makes zero sense..he was cut because Krafty was feeling the heat and the added bonus in his mind was that he might not have to pay him.

Pretty sure he means they released him before the bonus was due since they figured they could get away with not paying him. If Pats figured he was going on the EL, rather try and not be on the hook for the cash.

Not saying I want the headcase/circus back necessarily (I'm pretty agnostic on the whole thing), but had the Pats kept him, paid him, had him go on the EL, waited for the investigation and possible suspension, it's possible we're talking about him coming back in 3-4 weeks, if not sooner.

Just a thought I had while reading through all this for some reason...

Any semblance of a chance at a reconciliation with RKK and NEP was nuked during this Q&A. He’s an idiot with no impulse control

The signing was epic. Period. Releasing him was an epic mistake.
No, the signing was not epic, at all.

It was a HORRIBLY-worded contract worthy of Ryan Grigson (Bill the GM is has done few favors for Bill the HC so far), and it is severely hindering our ability to improve before it's too late.

I do agree however that releasing Clowntonio was an epic mistake.

AB is not playing for anyone this year. NFL basically said it...they will put him on the exempt list and they are slow walking the investigation.

So not sure why theres this "oh Patriots should Bring him back" or "releasing him was a mistake" narrative.....Goodell wont let him play...

If he was still on the Pat's he wouldnt be playing right now. He would be on the exempt list

I don’t know that we can assume a quick process. I think Goodell would’ve taken his sweet time before reaching a conclusion, thus making it impossible for him to return until 2020.

Very possible. Unless, he is of the mindset to stop interfering with the Pats, let the SB wins happen and hope TFB retires sooner with his desired accolades rather than later, trying to chase them.

Gordon got resolved much more quickly than even the optimists expected.

I agree, but the way he handled Jamie Collins and signing Gilmore and van noy. Bill the gm has made some really nice moves. Sometimes it takes a bit of distance to see if they pay off.

yeah but that’s horribly unfair. He’s being penalised for no Reason

Are you using a conspiracy theory to discredit my conspiracy theory? Stop it, before Zuckerberg notices.

The funny is for the " Clowntonio". Haha

The quintessential psychopath.

Well @rainmaker does because Shannon Sharpe said so and ABnormal tweeted it.........

By the way, when do the Patriots trainers go to jail for stealing the ball AB was giving away last month on Instagram????? There’s one born every minute.
