Many here were thinking that Bennett would replace Trey Flowers' production. He didn't come close.

Ultimately, it didn’t matter. I understand why they traded for Bennett. But then things changed. They drafted Winovich. Butler, Shelton and Wise are all performing at a higher level than last year and seemingly have all “put it together” at the same time. Simon continue to improve as well, as he learns the full scope of the defense. They have all bought into their role and are ok with the fact that they are more appreciated in the film room by the Pats coaching staff than they are by the public (other than the astute posters here at Patsfans.com, of course). It is amazing that Bennett is so self-centered that he couldn’t enjoy himself playing for the GOAT coach as part of this incredible defense.

It seems likely that Wino will absorb a lot of Bennett’s snaps (although Simon may benefit as well). I’m excited to see what he can do.
