Gordon to IR

Dude is an . . . fill in the blank.

I meant the poster RW was replying to, not Josh Gordon. I love Gordon as a player and I only wish him the best in all things.

I don’t get it, if he’s going to be healthy after the bye supposedly why cut him. Is it a performance thing, overpaid?

No one knows for sure. It sucks though.

They cut ties with Hernandez IMMEDIATELY after he was arrested.

People like yourself seem to have issues with facts. The only thing we know for certain was that Kraft was at that massage parlor. That's it. Yes, we have the police CLAIMS that he solicited a hand job and their CLAIM they have it on tape, but here's the thing. They also CLAIMED that they had another guy on tape. They were wrong and he's suing them now.

Want to know what else we know about the situation? The "tapes" have already been suppressed as evidence. It's looking more and more like this group of officers wanted to hook themselves some "big fish" and thought that they could do it with Kraft and the other big names. Unfortunately, they didn't go about it legally.
So do you not know what the word allegedly means it’s in my post. Secondly, maybe we should extend the same due process to Antonio brown, rather than say a civil suit was filed and a si article came out. Perhaps it is people like you that have problems with the facts. I stated in a post that nothing you said was false but I was mad at krafts hypocrisy. Obviously that post meant nothing to you. I am upset cause kraft did not extend the same due process to ab as he expects the public to give him. I am sorry you missed that whole point of my posts.

So basically we're just using him a condom? When all done and used up, throw it (him) in the trash?
That's really not fair.
The guy is obviously hurt.

They are going for a playoff run and they need everybody performing at a high level.

He really hasn't been performing well. And if he's on IR he still gets paid.

I really like Gordon , and wish him well.

But They are trying win a Superbowl

So, Gordon will be considered “healthy” after the trade deadline, where he’ll then be released and will have to go through waivers.

That makes me feel a bit better, I suppose. It’s probably still likely that a contender gets him, but this should limit the term “contender” to a team like Philly or Buffalo, as opposed to KC or Green Bay.

Of course, there’s still the possibility that a team like the Lions or the Bears get him first, so that’s what I’ll be hoping for.

I don't think he will get to the Eagles. Jets is a strong possibility. JG can be an asset. Play well 4/5 games and become an extra 5th/6th for 400k. Maybe even an extension. They love Pats players. Even Miami.

this.

Now all the shows will be talking us down again.

Let's trade for more stuff.. soon
I disagree with this, if you're talkin about the Gordon situation.

Every show I've watched, they say Gordon looks like he's running with a refrigerator on his back.

Gordon is a good player and a good person.
I just don't see him fitting into our scheme, with his injuries slowing him down. IMO

Hopefully Belichick is eyeing up some O line help.
Looks like our WR Corps are shaping up pretty decently

Why ?

Once we are post the trade deadline every vested veteran (including Gordon) will have to go through waivers.

For him to be claimed by a contender a ****ton of bottom feeder will have to say no.

Healthy is a relative term here. It is not like just because he can practice the bone bruises (and whatever else he has) disappeared.

Gordon wants to play through pain in his contract year. The team wants someone that is not hobbled and can be effective in his role.

It sucks but the needs of the team are above the needs of individual players.

That’s why I included the last paragraph. The hope is that he won’t make it past the lousy teams, but at least we can safely assume that he won’t be going to a top notch competitor.

Is there a feature on this site to filter out any post with the word Antonio Brown / AB in it?

:confused::confused::mad:o_O:oops::(

He is not coming back!!!
EVER EVER EVER!!!
Get over it!

Gordon-slot for Harry. Sounds most legit
Technical: $/roster/cap/etc - over my head

~Experiments in Divadom/ Wide Recievers: FAIL
Source of BB "issues" in this position? VLikely

Sanu
Love this move
1 Edelman survives to playoffs
2 See #1
3-10 Patriot mold Football Player- Will do his job

Bias: Edelman 2nd most Critical man on O
3rd down conversions- terrifyingly vaporized vs Buffalo
Jetebeatdown: Better, still MIA by Brady' standard
*
Our Aggravation Source: Sanu Not AB
1 Nobody is
2 Thank God, and Rutgers for that.

Anyone else shocked?
i suppose it makes sense. he would come back in wk16 then he would need paying next year.
Did he really need to be IRd - seems a minor injury by some reports.
Thoughts?

More concerned about our offense today than I was yesterday.. the new guys have to really step up to make this Offense productive..

We have more Cap money available so maybe they can still make a move for another receiving threat...

Cannot criticize the Pats for what they did for Josh Gordon, they stuck by him last year, after his suspension, and sooner or later need to cut their losses and move on.. will be interesting to see how he does in the future..

I was expecting something like this when Reiss said a couple weeks back that the Patriots are counting on NH to be a big part of the passing game when he comes off IR. He didn't question for one second that would come off IR, no he also said he expects Harry to be a big part of the passing game.

With Sanu, the emergence of Meyers we certainly don't the shell of his former self Gordon.

The Patriots were looking for a way to let Gordon go. If Gordon was putting up numbers you can bet that he would be wanted back asap. The handwriting was on the wall. Brady was high as a kite upon the signing of AB and they clicked Immediately.

Here’s what I struggle with on this move.
-Dorsett has come out and said how long it takes a receiver to get comfortable with this system. Sanu, new to the system
- Brady doesn’t like to play with the young guys. Yet Meyers and Harris will be heavily relied on

So unless he’s just toast, why cut someone who is a veteran and knows the system?

Do we have any actual evidence that Gordon will be released/waived other than some reporter's hawt take speculation?
