Jeff Howe: Pats in market for a WR and TE

I’d give up a 1st for OJ Howard hear me put. Not only is he a great reaching TE he’s an elite blocker as well which makes him extremely versatile. He was great last year playing with sorry ass Winston. We’d have to repay him after next season but having a top 5 TE with our next QB after Brady is huge. He’s only 24 so he’s extremely young. problem is
He’s getting a lot of playing time in Tampa even though it’s blocking. Howard has potential to be great

in that case I’d throw Burkhead and a 3rd for Cameron Brate. Very good red zone threat and a solid blocker.

WR isn’t that big of a need

A 1st seems way too steep for Howard. The guy is on pace for another 30 catch season which is his norm.
Don’t get me wrong I am all aboard the Let’s get Howard train as I am with Austin Hooper, but i just think a 1 is an overpay.

Imagine if they look to solidify OL too!

The value won't be there. No team is giving us competent offensive linemen because they rarely even exist in the league.

Interesting nugget (maybe not that interesting):

Emmanuel Sanders has 24 catches & zero drops on 35 targets this season.

I would love:

OJ Howard and Chris Godwin are the best options IMO. TB will trade both? Probably not ... i would give them a #1 #2 and #3 for them and a #2 in 2021. Both young, cheap, signed for next year, with huge upside.

Other Options:

WR Corey Davis
WR Kenny Golladay
TE Mike Gesicki

Can we just frickin bring back AB for god sake.

this makes cutting ben watson make even less sense. guy caught 46 passes last year. yet Bill tells me he doesnt have a roster spot while carrying jordan richards and scouring the market for a tight end.

Jordan Richards got signed for different reasons. Special teams to help mostly with kickoff coverage and injury concerns in that group.

At the time he was cut lacosse and Jakob Johnson were healthy. Let’s see if he’s brought back this week.

Richards seems to know how to get separation from his opponent; maybe he can be our WR solution....

Are you really going to disagree with BBs reasoning for having players on STs?

Prior to the game vs WASH the NEP were allowing 30.6 yards per KR.

Vs WASH there weren't any kick returns. Richards had 25 ST snaps.
Vs NYG there were 2 KRs. One was for 29 the other for 24. Richards had 13 ST snaps.

They are now 27th in KR ave allowed. That sucks, but improving.

The longer field an offense has vs THIS defense is all the better.

The shorter a field THIS offense has the better.

No assets required and biggest impact on the field. Already paying him too. The GOAT QB is on board.

As opposed to giving up a 2nd to 4th round pick(s) for a good but likely not great WR (unless it’s a 1st for Diggs or TE like Howard)

Let’s play Richards at FB. He’d look good on IR.

''but having a top 5 TE with our next QB after Brady''

Dude has 141 yds this year in 5 games / 11 rec, and he is top 5? They will pay for his potential but his production (lack of) is alarming ... I would not give him more than a 3rd comp. It is a win win situation. Bucs don't use him and recoup some of their investiment.

Jordan and Ben play dissimilar positions, so your complaint is moot.

Some well known caller to Felger and Mazz who apparently has some Pats contacts claims that they will trade Bennett back to Philly, who is hurting at DT, and then will use that cap space to trade for Keenan Allen.

Probably BS, but if not....yes please.
I think they’ll have enough cap room for Keenan Wynn.

Could it not say a lot more about where Ben Watson is right now?
