How can the Falcons suck this bad?

Kyle Shanahan was the reason they were so efficient on offense in 2016. Defense could not compensate because of injuries and the fact that the Seattle style cover 3 style is struggling everywhere.

They gagged away a SB in epic fashion. They've never been the same since. The Patriots have a way of ending dynasties. (Or beginning of dynasties/runs. See the Greatest Show on Turf & Legion of Boom as examples).

Regardless, it goes to show that a bad defense can't make up for a great offense. And the players they have on D aren't all that bad. They just continue to suck.

But it boggles my mind that "experts" continue to peg this franchise and the Chargers as SB contenders on a yearly basis. Two of the most underachieving teams in the NFL. You keep waiting to see more. And it never comes.

Quinn is a very overrated defensive mind.

Its called Parity.

Falcons records
2014: 6-10
2015: 8-8
2016: 11-5, lost SB
2017: 10-6, lost divisonal round to SB winner
2018: 7-9
2019: 1-4

Most teams aren't the Pats and cannot maintain consistent high levels of play.

Yea I think they caught lightning in a bottle that year. Shanahan was able to hide Ryan’s flaws and accentuate the pieces they had on offense. On top of Julio and Ryan they had a great supporting cast with Sanu, speedy Tyler Gabriel, a stud RB in Freeman, and a great third down back in Coleman. A few years later Sanu and Freeman are getting up there, Gabriel and Coleman are gone, and Ryan is back to being pre-Shanahan Ryan.

The time to pluck Ridley is now .
Atlanta is in a full meltdown and a single first could get it done.

Go Braves and take the Falcons with you.

Atlanta is a terrible pro sports town.

Their cover 3 might be working better if they still had Thomas and Sherman, but I've never been a fan of that defensive philosophy.

Shanahan was a big loss. They made the sb on the strength of that offense plus timely defensive stops. Mostly Ryan just went off in the nfc playoffs that year. Without that they are average at best

I would give up a second. Idk if he’s capable of being a number one receiver.

With the way we cant even get a hit on a receiver verdict is out on Harry.
I wouldn't hesitate to give up a late first rounder.

The SB loss demoralization is real. Unless you're the Pats in which case you're on to the first pre-season game as soon as it's over. Plus like people said. Shanahan. What did Julio just sign up for?

The ultimate “defense suited to personnel” copied around the league by teams totally lacking the ability to run it well.

They're so bad, yet even they had no use for Jordan Richards.
