1400+ posts and I swear, 1000 of them are in this thread. You should just go see if you can get a date with the guy.

I didn't start this thread or any of the other threads that were merged into this. I feel strongly about this so speaking up.

Plus I've been a member 4 years longer than you. Give me a break. I love the team as much as anyone here. The decade prior to that (2000-2010) I used to be on the boston.com forums but they were shut down.

Alright. We all make mistakes. I've made more than my share. You're one of us and it's just a messageboard.

So... how’s AB doing?

Just to be clear, all you AB haters, are perfectly fine with the NFL opening investigations into any player that is merely accused of something in a civil case. They can investigate and place said player in the EL as they see fit, and you guys are OK with this, correct?

Or is this only for AB?

Wrong. I think he’s a piece of sh.t and didn’t want him but I was opposed to him being put on the Exempt List because it was a civil case with no formal deposition. The text exchange changed that completely, and any employer should have the right to fire any employee who sends threatening or intimidating texts. And Brown proved yet again that he’s not someone deserving to play in the NFL with his latest performance in a recent deposition. No one has a right to play in the NFL or any other sports league, serve in any representative position, be in a movie or TV show etc... etc...., regardless of their behavior, and Brown’s behavior has put him in the position he’s in now.

Has anybody thought of calling Ukraine to see if they can open an investigation and just send the NFL whatever they find?

This isn’t an issue of rights. Those constitutional definitions are largely waived the moment a contract is signed between parties defining the length of time and outlining what, if any, behavior that will lead to termination of the contract, including cancellation of payments. Contract Law ifs different from constitutional law. This is not at-will employment.

Reading this article implies that this is yet again an Article 46 issue if the league were to have put him on the Exempt List and/or decide he is not eligible for pay. Goodell makes the decision.

Court Of Appeal Rules Against Adrian Peterson In Case Versus NFL

The Patriots do not have that ruling, though, since Brown never even got the collectively bargained for right for a hearing with the league on any of these issues. Impetuously releasing him (because Early Bird Bob couldn’t handle the outrage in his head) will ensure a costly cap hit.

LMFAO at Early Bird Bob. Hahahahaha

There was nothing “ impestuous” about the release. They gave Brown an opportunity when he really didn’t deserve one, then they overlooked multiple complaints about his sexual behavior, because they were in the past and had not been adjudicated, and they only acted when he left them no choice but to do so. Anything less would have been perceived by just about everyone as an appalling lack of concern about aggressive and intimidating actions toward a women accusing him of sexual misconduct. I’m no fan of Bob Kraft but he definitely got this one right.

What horrible crime did Brown commit that nullified his sterling career to date? Ask the Raiders for a release? Broadcast video from locker room? Just want to pick your brain on what you think he did that made his hiring a poor decision. This was of course before the bogus allegations came to public knowledge.

As far as I recall, almost all Pats fans were super happy when AB joined.

Understood. I'm in Europe and labour laws are much more protective here. My bad. Just looked this up. At-will does not apply in Europe.

*************

Employment Contract

In the United States labor laws, there is no requirement for an explicit contract of employment. Most employment is on an at-will basis, meaning that the employer or the employee can terminate the working relationship at any time, as long as the reasons are lawful. In Europe, the employment contract, derived from common law, is the basis of all employer-employee relations. Employment-at-will doctrine does not apply, notes High Street Partners, a leading international business service provider; the employer is required to follow due process in terminating an employee; if he fails to do so, he can be liable for wrongful termination.

Wrongful Termination

American federal laws and the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act do not require that employers notify their employees before termination. An employer can terminate the working relationship for any reason other than discrimination, retaliation, defamation, breach of explicit contract or fraud. According to the HG Global Legal Resources, just because an employee feels he has been treated unfairly, he may not be able to claim wrongful termination. Under European labor laws, an employee can claim wrongful dismissal or termination if the employer breaches the employment contract. For example, if the employer dismisses the employee without any notice or fails to follow disciplinary measures as stipulated in the contract before dismissal, the employee could claim wrongful termination.

Havent read the previous posts, but that is only for labor that hasnt been collectively bargained. Employment terms are governed by the CBA the players and owners have agreed to.

Walked out on his team with their season on the line. Acted out repeatedly and threatened to punch his GM in the face. Didn’t tell the Patriots about the pending lawsuits against him. Then he posted pictures of his accusers children and aggressively tried to intimidate her in a series of text messages. You can go ahead and root for that sack of sh.t, I’m really glad he’s gone. He’s a malignant narcissist who only cares about himself, and as such has never been on a championship team. F.ck him, good riddance.

It’s pretty simple if you exercise a little thought.
AB got here and a civil suit was filed.
AB played.
An SI article came out.
AB practiced with the 1s.
An accusation of texting complaints came out.
AB practiced with the 1s.
After that practice AB met with management to discuss his actions going forward.
AB was cut.

Based upon every interaction with a human being that we are aware of with AB he clearly AB’d the meeting and was cut.
He wasn’t cut because of a civil case. He wasn’t cut because of an article. He wasn’t cut because of texting.
He was cut because when his boss sat down with him to explain how he needed to behave going forward, he was himself, leading the team to conclude he is a lost cause. Just like his last 2 teams did.

What magic knowledge do you have to know that those accusations are “bogus”? Unproven at the current time, absolutely. But what do you have besides you want that POS Brown to be on the team to be so unequivocally sure it’s “bogus”?

There is an awful lot of speculation here that goes against what people with sources report. Not sure why one should take your interpretation of things over beat reporters doing their job.

There really isn’t much speculation just a chain of events and an obvious conclusion.
Beat reporters have speculated. None have given confirmed facts.

Is this the granddaddy of all threads yet?
