That would make sense...if she didn't file suit. Right, wrong or indifferent it is what it is. I mean if someone assaulted you does filing suit as your first official act make sense? And I say official because it is highly likely she attempted to extort him first (and yes that is speculation on my part).

I don't know her specific circumstances or facts, so I'm in no position to deem what does and does not make sense for her.

I'm going to wait for actual evidence to be presented in a legal proceeding before passing judgment on either Taylor or Brown.

I'm going to "look into" taking a piss. This is political hogwash, remember all DAs are politicians, and what is a better move politically right now in Pittsburgh than to damage Brown and the Patriots.

Hopefully they do send a detective down to talk to her. I'm sure her lawyer will not let her talk to them. But without a complaint and a cooperating witness, they can "look into" something all day long, but nothing will ever come of it.

It only becomes a criminal issue when charges are file ala Patrick Chung. The DA can investigate if they want.

Yup. What i meant is that it's now being looked at in the criminal aspect.

As far as I can tell, Brown is legally a Florida resident. She’s a resident of Tennessee, the alleged incident was in Florida, and the lawsuit was filed in Florida federal court. Why is a DA in Pennsylvania doing anything?

Edit: Yes, I’ve been told that an incident, but not the incident is alleged to have happened in his jurisdiction.

She does have some blame. He might not have raped her. And she's dumb to put herself in the situations that she did. But he admits to jacking off and spraying it on her back. That's at least sexual assault. Unless she knows he was doing it.
Actually it's not if they were in a consentual relationship.

That’s funny...a few days ago my wife asked me if Jim Rome still has a show. I didn’t know. Neither of us cared to even type his name into Google...it wasn’t worth the effort.

Wait... you're not a clone?

I know this sounds old fashioned but sex outside marriage was not always socially acceptable and never morally acceptable for many good reasons. When you choose to sleep around and many of us have, there are consequences. By following a moral code, you can usually avoid these kinds of things.
Didn't Abraham bed his wife's slave?
There were comments upthread about whether or not Drew informed the Pats in advance and critiques against him if he didn't. I'm sure the lawyers here could clarify this, but...

Isn't Drew a lawyer in addition to being an agent? Isn't what is said between AB and him protected by attorney-client privilege and can only be shared with the Pats with AB's consent?

I'm figuring Drew couldn't tell the Pats.

Regards,
Chris
Also not a lawyer, but I doubt legal ethics would allow him to lie. And nothwithstanding legal obligations, his professional reputation would be damaged if it turns out he lied.

...he admits to jacking off and spraying it on her back.

It was apparently part of a religious experience. We have freedom of religion in this country!

Wow - I always thought this was more of an exaggeration. Like no one is actually as irrational as anti-feminists make them out to be. SMY proves this theory wrong. Can you be any more of a militant, anti-fact, SJW than this?

Wtf?

It's SMY. She sucks and has for as long as I can remember.

Of course the whole irrational trope exists, the point of contention is that anti-feminists would have you believe they're all over the place dominating the whole discourse, and that's just not really true. The vast majority of people wait for, at a minimum, a lot more evidence and a far greater pattern of behavior than what we've seen here.

None of us know all the facts/evidence relevant to this case yet. None of us can say with certainty that "nothing will ever come of it". Maybe that's true, we don't know.

It could turn out that these accusations are in fact true and that the DA has every right and responsibility to be investigating.

Likewise, maybe the accusations are entirely fabricated, in which case I would argue the DA also has every right to be investigating, as a false accusation is also a crime, as far as I know.

As another poster said, the more scrutiny the better. Evaluate the facts and evidence and follow them where they lead. More scrutiny will only help to better clear Brown's name if he is, in fact, innocent.

If she was unaware he was jacking off and he sprayed it on her back, she has a sex harassment case. That's not the kind of thing you do to a girl and then say "surprise!" She's got a complaint on that even if they had sex before.

After all, what you seem to be referring to...

You would do well to avoid assuming what an educated, well rounded adult with a lifetime of experience 'seems' be referring to. My only point was simply that yours was not well thought out or made. For someone that often purports to represent a larger view on things you are perhaps a bit too quick to decide what others mean and interpret their statements based upon your own narrow viewpoints.

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

I'm not sure I agree.

Just because there's greater awareness of a societal issue does not necessarily mean those obstacles are any less real for the time being.

Awareness and progress are two separate discussions.

ok....I'll buy that......however, the only 'evidence' so far are a couple of emails that don't admit anything except him telling her to get lost ..... what I find interesting is that all of Pittsburgh already hated his guts so why delay this moment? .... those emails were form June 29....he was long gone and she had nothing to fear.

the timing of her accusation so far is the most questionable action presented.

I honestly don't care if he ever plays a down for the Pats, but I smell copious amounts of bullsh1t

Why can’t you see that?
1) the NFL is allowed to
2) being accused of sexual assault means you’re guilty in the eyes of the public
3) Roger is all about following PR
4) Other owners will want AB suspended
5) Roger and other owners probably think NE tampered.

I’ll be shocked if he’s not suspended with pay while the investigation happens.
From a PR perspective, wouldn't suspending Brown open the NFL to charges of plantation mentality given that rich white owner, Kraft, who faced actual criminal charges, was not suspended whereas Brown, the black employee, who only faces civil charges, is suspended before the process even starts playing out?

I agree to a point, I guess the available evidence so far makes it appear more likely to be a money grab than an assault. So to be fair, you are correct. She looks shady though and if there were more evidence pointing to rape I would say the opposite.

But obviously none of know all the facts.

The statistics make it almost a certainty that you know someone who has been raped.

"The statistics" are guesswork buttressed by agenda (regardless of direction). There is literally no way of knowing the actual numbers, and the oft-shifting definitions of what constitutes rape/sexual assault guarantee that the numbers will never really mean anything of value.

I described the 3 alleged instances.

How does a person ejaculate on another persons back while sitting down watching a church service on an iPad?
I guess that's one way to achieve rapture while practicing safe sex.

Bunch of possible reasons. Could be that he wants to interview the parties and see if anything allegedly happened in his jurisdiction. Could be that it's an elected position and he wants to get some positive headlines.
