Makes me laugh because PIT was negotiating with BUF on AB but sent him to OAK because they didn't want him to be in the AFC East!
Why would pitt care if he is in the afce or afcw? It makes no difference.

Some people are offended by just about anything.
It's an offensive comment. I don't consider it in the same league as the n-word, but it is nevertheless an offensive thing to call someone. It's also the sort of thing that could completely ruin a man's career if people believed it. Fortunately for Mayock, no one is taking the head case AB's accusation seriously.

On a related note this is just the tip of the iceberg ...
NFL players want what the NBA players have and they will now scheme to get it.
Big 3 - big 4 - big 5 ... all that is needed is cap space and contracts that end in some form.

That would be really bad for the development of our first round pick. They won't just keep him on IR if he's healthy, he can just be inactive if he's too low on the depth chart.
K'neal Harry's head must be spinning....

July: "I'm going to start opposite JE for the NEP. Yay me!"
Aug 15: "OK, I'm a little hurt but I'll be OK. I'll still start".
Aug 17: "Josh Gordon was reinstated? Ok, I'll be WR3
Aug 29: " DT activated and played great vs the NYG. OK, WR4 isn't too bad. I'll play still"
Sept 1: "IR won't be too bad. I'll play when I get back.
Sept 7: "AB is here now? Sheeeeeeeet".

I'm guessing because Pittsburgh plays every AFCE team this year?

AB recorded a private phone conversation with his coach and posted it on social media for his own benefit. It's illegal in California and in many states to record phone calls without the consent of both parties. But legality aside, think about that for a second. That's such a complete and utter violation to record and post a private conversation. You don't turn a guy like that around overnight.

I wouldn't be surpised if they put Harry on season ending IR at some point...he's not going to see many targets.

Hey, remember when they re-signed Philip Dorsett with a promise to give him a bigger role in the offense?

This team had one wide receiver heading into the offseason. ONE. Then they lost out on FA after FA and trade target after trade target. How the heck did we get from there to here???

I am looking at this whole fiasco from a different angle today. I think Brown was looking for support from the Raiders in his helmet fight. If you look at the details, the NFL did not list his helmet type as being on the list of disallowed. So he did not know he had to change it. When the Raiders did not support him, he started to get agitated because he sees himself retiring without a Superbowl. To add insults to his mental injury, they fine him for something he thought they were on the same page on with a letter. He thought they were "cool" and then they tell him his contract is no longer guaranteed and at that point he said **** it, I have money, I need a super bowl to solidify my career. I can't deal with this.
He may not be bat **** crazy crazy.
What I can't explain is the video taping of Tomlin's victory speech in the locker room. That one I can't explain. I am a bit crazy myself, but unlike him I have the ability of self reflection, so I can relate with Brown at lot and not totally.

Dorsett will start plotting against the team.

Next thing you know he'll offer Josh some weed and call AB's helmet ugly

Yea if all goes according to plan this will be a red shirt year for the kid.

Just a note:

We already had a decent WR group, but it didn't include a dynamic player. Now it will. It will move the needle of how efficient this offense will be. BUT lets be clear. We added an elite WIDE RECEIVER. It's not like we had a JAG QB and added Tom Brady. It will make a difference, but NOT a big one.

IT's just a WR. How many times do we have go through this. Great WR's NEVER determine a team's success or failure. They just help, otherwise the Texans, Falcons, Chiefs, etc all would have passed us years ago. Because everyone of those teams AND more, all have better WR's than we have had. Yet it's the Pats who have been to 4 of the last 5 superbowls, not them.

This team's success was NEVER going to be determined by who our WR's are. Brady was always going to have 4500 odd yds, 30 TD's, 10 picks, etc. Do you really think that it will be THAT much better if he's at 5000 yds, 35 TD's and 10 pick with AB?

No our Team's success is REALLY going to be determined by how good our OL turns out to be. How good our DL is against the run. This year isn't going to be determined by how dynamic AB is, but by how dynamic the DEFENSE is.

So regardless of how this AB experiment turns out to be for good OR bad; it will be those other areas of the field that will determine if we get our 7th Lombardi Trophy, not because we added a luxury WR.

It's been a Pink Panther movie getting to this point, but look at the ending.

As a late arrival to the team, what avenue of gripe is he going to have?

  • I deserve more passes than Edelman, the SB MV...... nevermind.
  • I didn't screw up that play. The greatest QB in the histo..... nevermind.
  • That play, called and executed by Tom Brady and Josh Mc... nevermind.
  • I can't believe my coach, one of the very best in the history of the entire game, would call... nevermind

Well if I have learned anything it's you can't insert ration into an irrational situation. I wouldn't put anything beyond him. Like I said I hope I'm wrong...

Nothing will happen. Donald Sterling got his phone call recorded without his consent and it cost him the Clippers.

I think that, regardless of which side of the yes/no equation a person falls on, pretty much everyone is in agreement about "Of course, this clown could do something stupid before he even shows up on Monday, for all we know, never mind over the course of the whole season."
