The only good I see here is that he didn't go to the Eagles or Chiefs. I don't see how he lasts the season with his history of skipping meetings and practices when playing for the Steelers and Raiders. I think the chances are good that he's going to flame out before Gordon does. Maybe he turns it around and becomes a model citizen? I simply don't believe that he has it in him to do this.

This could back fire badly also... just saying. Unless he was faking all this crap, he could be very insubordinate

In other news, thank you, Adam Humphries, for rejecting the Patriots.

.

That is totally wack

Not to mention, the Pats are paying him LESS than they are allocating for him on their salary cap this year. :p:p:p

There is no question this is a risk. Both financially, cap-wise and for locker room harmony.

If it works out....They are scoring 40 a game.

If it doesn't, they cut him and we move on.

BB is the GREATEST COACH OF ALL TIME!!! He will get the BEST out of Josh Gordon....he got the BEST out of Randy Moss and Corey Dillon ....and if ANYONE CAN SAVE one of the most talented WR of all time and set him straight.... it’s Bill Belichick....I’m probably only the ONLY ONE besides Tom Brady....that LIKES (hopefully one day Loves) this signing!!!! GO PATS!!!

We don't really know about Ted karras all too much and Wynn has not played in a regular season game. It could be strong but we have some question marks.

Patriots are just waiting on a disgruntled center...

would love to be a fly on the wall to hear bills conversation with him upon signing.

Definitely needed someone who could command double coverage, they now have it.

I think we should definitely be excited, the offense needed to replace a HOF calibre threat in Gronk and this helps.

I'm not that concerned about him off of the field, if Bill is willing to give him this kind of guaranteed coin i'm sure he isn't that concerned either, he clearly wanted out of Oakland.

There's no guaranteed salary. He's a vested veteran so he only gets 25% of his salary if cut at any point during the season.

We have yet to see the signing bonus and the years involved. @Deus Irae is right about a voidable year or two beyond 2019. A three-year deal could be voided a la Tom Brady's deal at $3M/year dead money, or if Brown stays on the roster, they could negotiate a new deal after the season before the new NFL year begins and upgrade the compensation. Brown has yet to pass a physical, so his cryin'outloudgenic feet are still a question mark. We'll see what unfolds next week.

Have yall thought of nicknames to this group already?

Given the volatile nature I want to call them:

The Explosion Unit
One Forsakes the Blunt, One Learns from It

The “child” as you call it has never had a coach like Bill Belichick, a QB like Brady....and an organization like the PATRIOTS!

The child has quit on 2 teams in the past 9 months.
The child has been the mother of all distractions for the two teams he eventually quit on.
The child vents every thought and frustration through social media, with his tantrums reading as if he is illiterate and a special needs candidate
The child publicly abused management who happens to be a BB confidante.
The child would have to accept a reduced contract, agree to unprecedented conduct terms, and check his ego at the door.....all non starters for this petulant type A psycho.

Other than that.....

in 07 Moss had the entire off season, and OTAs and Pre-season to prove he was not going to be a jerk. I know this has a lot of upside, but the season starts tomorrow,

He was the biggest nut case spectacle I have seen in sports up until this morning, and the season starts tomorrow. Moss had many months with the team, the workers, the coaches, all of it before game 1.

I'm a little concerned that he may expect special treatment and I sure hope not.
