Ricky Seals-Jones is an ex-WR that has flashed at times early in his career as a receiving TE. His highlight package is pretty impressive with a lot of downfield receptions. He’s only 24 & Klingsbury is reportedly going 4 WR sets and scrapping TE. I’d consider giving him a look.
Damn! Polite got released already? I guess Jets/Florida Gators football is a terrible combination.
WOW. Lots of draft picks ultimately end up unfruitful, but a #68 overall pick not even making the team as a rookie is world-class bust territory!
And it has not escaped the attention of Jets fans that the next player taken at that position was some dude named Winovich.
His troubling post-season that included bad combine interviews, bad workouts and additional weight around the midsection has substantially clouded his draft standing into the boom-or-bust category.
Jachai Polite made the wrong kind of headlines at the combine. Along with a lackluster workout, he spent part of his press conference calling out NFL teams for grilling him in one-on-one interviews. “They just bashed me the whole time.”
His stock has fallen sharply since the end of the season. Polite attempted to bulk up for his NFL workouts—in Indianapolis he weighed in at 258 pounds—but appeared out of shape. His 4.84 forty was second-slowest among all EDGE players at combine, and his 32-inch vertical was fourth-worst. He pulled out of the rest of the drills with a hamstring injury. Things got worse at Florida’s pro day last week; Polite, who said his hamstring is still bothering him, ran a 5.04 forty.
One scout said his team is currently 50/50 on whether to keep Polite on their board.

To be fair, how could the Jets have guessed? I mean, just look at Polite's sterling pre-draft writeups:

Excellent addition for NO.
yup
If a team drafts based on pre-draft write-ups instead of qualified scouts, then the team gets a Polite instead of a Winovich.
That being said, all teams make huge mistakes.
Well he had 1 last year and 3 the year before. You must have watched red zone only week 11 and 12 of 2017 he had 3 of his 4 in those 2 games.Seemed for a bit last year or the year before that Seals-Jones was always catching a TD on NFL Redzone.

@Morgan4HOF _ how can you disagree with a tweet that was posted that had a link to the Steelers cuts?
