Brian Baldinger is a former offensive lineman and journeyman broadcaster not exactly known as an expert on quarterback play. But as long as you want to play this game, here's something to ponder. When was the last time Dam Darnit made a touchdown pass like THIS? Never? Thought so ...

Nice pass. Not anything amazing though.

Baldy is a good guy. But ok, how about Romo...
Tony Romo Doubles Down on Sam Darnold

Several hundred undocumented immigrants went to a Jets game. They jumped back over the wall shortly after

Wonderful. Now, get back to me when he leads your "team" of spineless pricks to a win down by seven with under two minutes left and starting from his own 10 yard line.

All in good time.

On his first pass against the Giants, he didn’t recognize the coverage and was extremely lucky to avoid a pick 6 (sound familiar?)

On his first pass attempt of the night, Jets quarterback Sam Darnold threw short to Quincy Enunwa on the right sideline. Peppers jumped the route and was in perfect position to welcome Darnold to 2019 with an interception. Instead, he saw the ball bounce right off his hands and bounce helplessly out of bounds. There was nobody in front of him, and he would have waltzed into the end zone for a touchdown.

But more concerning is the TD pass. This is a college QB if I’ve ever seen one, sprinting to the right to create a lane in a bootleg style concept. Notice the bad mechanics and how he just whips the ball out while his body is moving backwards. It’s no wonder he led the league in interception worthy passes percentage (PFF) and I think tied for the league overall despite missing s bunch of games. Those horrible mechanics and reliance on (so-so) athleticism will continue to make him a pick machine with subpar accuracy. He’ll make a lot of “big time” highlight throws, but he will make way too many mistakes to be a great, or even good, QB. Jete fans can’t see this and will marvel at his athleticism and blame the coaching.

He may have had a “perfect passer rating” on five passes, but two of those passes show extreme flaws he likely will never correct. His other two completions were to wide open targets.

Jete fans should be deported to Kurdistan.
What did those poor, courageous freedom-fighters ever do to you to deserve Jete fans?

Somalia (or any number of similar other sh!tholes) would be one of my first choices...

A current thread at Gang Green MB is I would only trade Sam Darnold for-

Almost all say Mahomes only, a few also mention Mayfield.

Can you say, "Whack-a-doodle"?

I agree.

Field IQ, poise in the pocket, and accuracy. Patriots seem to understand that these are the most important attributes for a QB. Do the Jets get this?

Do you really want me to answer the question?

Well hey, Darnold still throws some beautiful rocket passes . . . right into the DB's arms.:D

Must have been discouraging to see Baker Mayfield come onto the field outplay him in that game last season.

Actually I love seeing great new talent.

This comment is so ripe for so many snappy comebacks I don't know where to begin.

I was axing myself the other day, I said self, why do the NY JETE keep picking USC quarterbacks and breaking them? And I realized, it's because they're Trojans. Now before you start thinking that I am going to say JETE fans reproduce by breaking Trojans, this time I'm not. I'm going all uptown on you and saying that the JETE coaching staff in this analogy is like Agamemnon, the Greek commanding general. He spends 10 years breaking the Trojan then comes back to reality and finds that his wife has become Aegisthus' bronze-age love puppet, and then she kills Agamemnon in the bath so she can be with Aegisthus, and then her son Orestes says f*** you mom and kills her, and then the furies breathe down his neck in a painting. Long story short, Namath was Greek, I rest my case.
