I love to celebrate when the Patriots win by eating lobstah.
I usually reserve them for the regular season however after last night I might make an exception.

Didn’t see a whole lot of push in the run game last night as a group to get sizeable holes, but did see Froholdt beating his guy at the line and getting downfield on multiple occasions.

Apparently he didn’t allow a sack in each of his last two years at Arkansas? Very solid and well rounded player, shaping up to be a nice pick.
The reason was personnel both on the line and in the backfield.

It would be pretty cool if we could have a rookie class like the Saints in 2017

Blame it on Gilligan.

The wr battle is still up in the air. Harris got open but he really should have caught at least one of those dropped deep passes. Berrios didn't show enough for me as a wr just yet. And the forgotten Inman looked very dangerous when the ball was in his hands. Yac is a big thing in our offense and Inman showed a burst no one else showed as a runner.

Missed game
Was BB actively running the D/scheme calling every play or did Mayo assume this role?

Mayo seemed to do it, and do it well.

Liked what I saw last night on both sides of the ball.

I am really excited about our "D" and like some of our young guys in the secondary and on the d-line. I think our receivers showed some potential as well. Think this could be a fun year!!

Usually in the preseason if Brady isn't playing its usually a snore with more incompletes and drops than smooth plays. So once Hoyer (who star in incomletes) started hitting passes all over the place it became apparent that Detroit was not ready to play.
Aside from that a lot of good last night, enough to build on. The rookies looked good, the whole thing was very entertaining. How they all mix together once the starters are throw in remains to be seen. Hopefully Brady can build a rapport with Harry, Harris and Meyer and not rely just on just Edelman.
Also how come Damien Harris didn't play last night, or did I just miss him.

Good job Coach Ashley!

Tough crowd, tough crowd!

For what it's worth, I was very encouraged by Harry, Harris, Meyers and (to my surprise) Berrios, who, I thought, looked explosive both in returning punts and receiving (the change of direction from in to out for his first down reception was sudden and effective).

What a luxury to be confident about the secondary even without Dawson and Williams being contributors and only really having TE and LT to be concerned about.

Let's see how the next game against the Titans goes , they may provide some decent CB opposition !

So does Patricia get fired sometime this year?

I agree with the previous poster in that Inman did look good when he was in play , however surely a player would not risk being invisible during camp and then show some sparkle during the pre season games in an effort to get a spot in the 53......that would just not cut it !.......Do you think we will see the same players against the Titans or will they risk some starters ?

As far as answering this off-season's cliche question, "how will the pats replace Gronk?" Harry looks like he can be the go to guy against man coverage. Otherwise, we're relying on Gordon and DT.

Replacing his blocking.... I want to go back and watch Beck a little more closely. Supposedly, he is a skilled blocker at TE/FB. Anybody see anything from him last night?

Was this also the case with Shelton last night and last year, in that he did enough to get on the team then was benched for a few games mid season
