I don't believe Dorsett played much in this game. I suspect he is ahead of Harris and not in danger of losing his spot. But, you never know.

Well if he is ahead of Harris, suspect he will make the roster because I'm starting to believe Berrios will make it as return specialist and he just has to look somewhat decent in catching the ball.

Did anyone else get huge Josh Gordon vibes watching Harry make those catches in tight coverage? I sure did.
Yes. It remains to be seen, however, if Harry has that extra gear that Gordon did when he was younger once he hits the open field.

True. Mostly wasn’t just talking about physicality. The speed aspect of his game I need to see more.

Huge if here. Huge.

IF Stidham turns out to be good, you guys on the side of:

2019: Brady, Hoyer, Stidham.
2020: Brady, Stidham
2021: Stidham becomes our qb

Again, big if and I want to ride Brady two more seasons.

I agree it was an exciting start for Stidham, but let’s wait a bit before we get rid of that Brady guy ;)

Stidham’s main problem last year was happy feet under a big rush and loss of confidence when things went wrong. Last night there was virtually no pass rush and we won going away (it should be noted that Hoyer looked pretty good too). That said, clearly a promising start for Stidham!

Many Auburn fans thought the coaching was terrible last year and Malzahn is clearly on the hot seat. Of course, Auburn fired Chizic two years after winning a national college football championship, so I never know just how “bad” their supposedly bad coaches are. Under the best case scenario, with top coaching from Josh and BB, time to mature and build confidence and Brady’s mentorship Stidham will blossom. We can only hope. It’s obviously too early to put him in the Hall of Fame, but it’s certainly better than flopping in his first preseason game.

From Evan Lazar's article:

8. Hjalte Froholdt: the Danish Destroyer
Okay, maybe it’s not the best nickname, but I have a serious man-crush on fourth-round pick Hjalte Froholdt. His fast feet allow him to make blocks on the move, which fits the scheme perfectly, and he has excellent core strength and balance in his pass sets.

Overall, the 2019 draft class is off to a fast start. It's a shame Cajuste hasn't been cleared to play--the Patriots have been aces at drafting guards in recent years, but snakebit at tackle.

It's in the feed too...

I’m not so sure why they ran Brandon Boldin so much yesterday. Figured that the guy is pretty much a lock - as a core special teamer and emergency running back. There’s really no mystery to Boldin’s role. I was hoping to see Damian Harris get some reps back there but maybe he’ll get a chance next week.

I keep seeing this thrown around but it doesn't seem to be based on anything real.
The only reason i say this is that for years ive read and heard that the reason for the pats success is brady, its more brady than BB. And i can see BB wanting to prove that he can win without him, he might view it as challange to take a young qb like stidham and win another SB.

Yep, I've read plenty of that--and just as much of the reverse.

It's a sign of the power of the Patriots dynasty that debates like "Brady vs. Manning" have withered, and all that's left is intra-team greatness debates. :D

Maybe it ends up being Thuney LT, Froholdt LG...

According to Duffy, the injury N'Keal Harry suffered, is not expected to be a significant one.
My fav word above is “not”.

I absolutely LOVED the 2 catches Harry made. Those type of plays are almost impossible to defend and will add an element to the offense that has been missing in recent years. He seems to play big.
That second catch is why he went in the first round.

Or a cage match between belichick and brady. :D

Interesting notion. If nothing else, it's a reminder that IOL depth is perhaps the one roster area nobody's talking about at all. Froholdt did play some center in college....

Didn’t see a whole lot of push in the run game last night as a group to get sizeable holes, but did see Froholdt beating his guy at the line and getting downfield on multiple occasions.

Apparently he didn’t allow a sack in each of his last two years at Arkansas? Very solid and well rounded player, shaping up to be a nice pick.

Outside of the three starters at IOL, it seems like Karras’ job is secure as the backup center/ability to play guard. Should be some depth with him and Froholdt. Nice insurance if Thuney ever needs to kick over to LT in a pinch/they start the year with only 3 tackles.
