At the very least it gives me great faith that this is not his last!!!!
caphit?
Making $23 million this year how in the blue hell do the Pats have the room to do this
caphit is the only thing that matters. Before he was making 15 million but his cap hit was 27 million.Making $23 million this year how in the blue hell do the Pats have the room to do this
This should line up nicely for Stidham to step in seasoned in the system when Tom steps downcaphit is the only thing that matters. Before he was making 15 million but his cap hit was 27 million.
No idea what fake controversies local sports radio will talk about now.

Probably pro-ration of the signing bonus itself.
Something like Brady gets a 20M check....and his base salary drops this year as well as his cap #...but the 20M is spread over 3 seasons at a 6.6 cap #.
Absolutely. If the bonus is B and the contract is N years long, the bonus results in a cap hit of B/N each year of the contract (on top of hits from the player's actual salary that year, guaranteed money, etc.). If the contract isn't played out, any unamortized cap hit accelerates into the current year.So it's a 2 year contract worth 23 million this year,do signing bonuses count at all against the cap?
Too early to tell. That $23mil is what Brady will be paid in cash this year, not a cap hit number.23 million?? That can't be true. That would mean the mediots were wrong again.
