2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

Well he also just admitted that they may have engineered the series but it was 3-3 so who cares. What use is it risking life and limb if it isn’t straight up? Why even bother playing?
TommyBrady12 is a massive troll not to be taken seriously. Make sure you spell everything correctly. When he loses an argument he will throw spelling in your face lol.

It's usually a combination of things. Today we learned that Pasta, Marchand and Bergie were all injured which, to my mind (nevermind Griz and Chara and others we still don't know about), was the most important explanation for their performance. The top goal scorers were not able to perform at their best.
After 23 PO games + an 82-game regular season, everybody is injured in one form or another.
The top line's "performance" in the finals was Inexcusable.

May be just me but wasn’t that Whalers logo one of the best ever? Cool color scheme, combining that H and W with the whale fin, just fantastic. Must better than those crappy hurricane jerseys these Days.
Even though I was raised on the Bruins since the days of Wayne Cashman, Brad Park and Terry O'Reilly and hated all the other teams in the Adam's Division, I always secretly admired that logo along with the old Quebec Nordiques logo too. I really hope that the next time a team folds or they foolishly add another expansion it is in Quebec City.

Your first sentence is is what invalidates the series. Should a sporting event of any kind be engineered in any way? Everything that comes after means absolutely nothing.

It happens more often than you think...

Absolutely! My nominees are:

Florida Panthers - no support whatsoever unless they're in the POs, and one team in the state is plenty;

NJ Devils - 3! teams in the Tri-State area is One too many, and at Exit 16W there is no There there;

Arizona/Phoenix/Whatever Coyotes - I don't feckin give a sh!t if one of the reasons why Las Vegas was given a team is so that a "rivalry" is developed with this feckin hell-hole of a franchise. Worst move Ever: Winnipeg to that furnace of a wasteland.

Yup, another great logo from the past. If I owned the Avs I’d make sure to break out that Uni for my road game in Montreal.

You guys sound like the Jaguars fans after the 2017 AFCCG who were whining about the refs blowing the whistle on Ramsey’s fumble recovery and complaining there was some sort of league conspiracy.

Did you say the same about Gronk's Superbowl performance on one leg? There are injuries that affect performance. The top line struggled throughout and did not play to their capabilities. Injuries likely played a part of that. Ultimately we will never know, but these guys weren't themselves and it wasn't all the opponent.

I don’t know what to tell you. Ryan O’Reilly played with cracked ribs...

STFU already. Your team won, so just be thankful while you wait another 51 years. Ras-IR Dowling's a much more gracious winner than you are.

Except it's not his team. Until the middle of next season at which point he will suddenly be a long suffering lifelong Blues fan who paid his dues for longer than he's been alive. After getting called out for weak azz takes and trolling he literally didn't post to this thread for a month; from the Canes series on...until after the Bruins lost Wednesday night. He's the very worst type of fraud, the one that can only fool themselves.

Florida and zona, yes
New Jersey, no. The logo, color scheme is bad ass.

Great season for the B’s, a shame to lose Game 7, but they were outplayed. Great young core of players and their cap situation isn’t bad, I think Johanson is probably gone but they can get McAvoy signed long term and they should be really good long term.

krug is up after next year. they need to trade Rask or Krejci so they can get some cap flexibility.

Nobody said these were the only injuries.

Ok, but I'm sure there were some injuries on the Blues side as well. Hard to know who would have won if both teams were 100% healthy. The Bruins won 3 games and played very well at times this series. If they were swept then you can say the injuries had an effect on the series. But how do you win game 6 by a score of 5-1 and then not show up in game 7? Marchand, Pasternak, Bergeron, and Kreji all played well on the power play...

I also did not predict the what if. I simply speculate that the top line was affected by injury.

All these Bruins theories and many are missing the mark.
The Bruins had nobody except for Backes who could play in front of the net.
The Blues knew this and doubled down on it ...
They pressured shots from our D while pinching in tight around Binnington.

It worked ... we tried to get around it by dumping the puck in old style to pull them away but they were too quick to get back in position. It was also ironic that in game 7 they used our style of dumping the puck in ... and greatly took advantage of it.

We move on ... truly was a team loss and a team championship.

No need to continue this back and forth since a few of you are dug in on your tainted championship rhetoric. Good day to you sir.

Because it is. Sorry you won't know what actually watching your team earn one is like. You know its true.

I'll admit that there's a good possibility the league engineered a 7 game series. I'll even admit that the no-call against Neil Atari in game 5 was bad. However, when all was said and done, the Bruins were tied 3-3 going into game 7. They could have won that game but didn't show up. There was no reffing controversy in that game.

And going back to game 5, the Blues were the better team before that goal was even scored. Rask let in a soft one, yet no one is blaming him?

Because the shot never should have happened. Bruins should have been on power plays, instead your goons score. Dispicable play. Disgusting game. Pretty sure I'll just tell my kids all sports are rigged just like wrestling. Once you accept that, it all is just a waste of time. Thank your fake-champion blues for opening my eyes to this nonsense a little more.

How does all this **** play out in court with legalized gambling? Seriously though, anyone who laid money on the bruins have a legitimate fraid claim if im on the jury. That goes series or game 5 specifically.

I liked it too and bought a nice, good quality sweatshirt with the logo, I let a friend wear it one night and haven't seen it since, I guess he liked it too.

Injuries aren’t completely irrelevant but every team has them, and winning any championship requires getting past injuries, bad calls, screw ups, and then getting a little luck as well. And as history goes the championship counts and the other factors don’t.
