2018-19 Stanley Cup - Bruins vs Blues

At the time I was 10 yrs old. Didn’t know, or care who the owners were. Just picked a bad team with cool unis (which they had to go and ruin a few years later).

It went a lot deeper than just being a 'bad' team. All of us who spent decades wishing for an owner other than Billy Con Man Sullivan very quickly got a lesson in being careful what you wish for.

Yeah would’ve been a crazy way to become a St. Louis football fan. Glad it didn’t happen. The St Louis Stallions has such an arena feel to their name.

"I liked the shaver so much I bought the company. " Seemed like a nice guy in his commercials.

The humor of Gillette having naming rights under Kraft when the team's former owner owned Remington isn't lost on me.

Regards,
Chris

APF would enjoy a visit from his midwest son on Fathers Day this Sunday. See to it.

I'm still upset over the loss. This one is right up there with the 2010 collapse for me.

I don't believe that Gillette was the first choice for naming rights...didn't another sponsor drop out before that?

CMGI. They even had signs to CMGI field/stadium on rte. 1.

Edit: And stadium signage, too.

You guys sound like the Jaguars fans after the 2017 AFCCG who were whining about the refs blowing the whistle on Ramsey’s fumble recovery and complaining there was some sort of league conspiracy.

Lol now that is perfect. Funny part about this whole thing. I was pulling for St. Louis after that whole hand pass BS. Then I saw just how dirty they played. Headshots here leaving skates there. Running the goalie. Pinning guys down. And none of it called, or very little of it.

I hate that I even for one second felt bad for them. Forever they will have an * next to that Cup win. I don’t expect the Blues fans to see this, but again most other hockey people do.

One game, one play versus 7 games that clearly bore out that the Blues are a dirty, headhunting, nasty team that should have been on the PK for 30 minutes per game if ruled properly. So, they are headhunting, running goalies and that thug Berube whines lime a baby about penalties (all legit btw) and then poof! Carte blanche.

That isn’t how officiating should work. Once you ignore clear penalties because of an outside influence, you have manufactured a series. It no longer is organic. At that point, if the team that benefited wins, it is fraudulent.

I'll admit that there's a good possibility the league engineered a 7 game series. I'll even admit that the no-call against Neil Atari in game 5 was bad. However, when all was said and done, the Bruins were tied 3-3 going into game 7. They could have won that game but didn't show up. There was no reffing controversy in that game.

And going back to game 5, the Blues were the better team before that goal was even scored. Rask let in a soft one, yet no one is blaming him?

STFU already. Your team won, so just be thankful while you wait another 51 years. Ras-IR Dowling's a much more gracious winner than you are.

It's usually a combination of things. Today we learned that Pasta, Marchand and Bergie were all injured which, to my mind (nevermind Griz and Chara and others we still don't know about), was the most important explanation for their performance. The top goal scorers were not able to perform at their best.

Your first sentence is is what invalidates the series. Should a sporting event of any kind be engineered in any way? Everything that comes after means absolutely nothing.

don't let him get to you. He's a troll. He was gone from this thread for three weeks. Then the Bruins lose, and he returns like he is some kind of message board hero. He was wrong. The Bruins could have won the cup. or they would not have been in the 7th game of the finals. he arrogantly scoffed at the Bruins chances after rd 1. lol he's like a 12-year old with 2 or three favorite teams to cover his ass. Hammer him with dislike ratings lol that drives him nuts. Those ratings mean everything to him.

Well he also just admitted that they may have engineered the series but it was 3-3 so who cares. What use is it risking life and limb if it isn’t straight up? Why even bother playing?
