Sure but any 2 of the TEs plus devlin plus an OL can be enough. 3 active TEs would be a surprise unless one is a primary ster.LaCosse is not a in-line blocker. Hes more of an H-back.

They've had 2 TEs and a H-back/TE3 multiple times in the 2010s. What i'm suggesting is the norm.Sure but any 2 of the TEs plus devlin plus an OL can be enough. 3 active TEs would be a surprise unless one is a primary ster.
Only 22 defensive players seems light.
I think this is pretty normal. Perhaps, we'll trade Jones and add another front six player.

It is always possible to have only 22 on offense plus Slater and Bolden. But where would you cut a position? I'm already down to 2 TE's and 4 WR's to get to 25. What do you suggest?
OFFENSE (25)
QB (3)
RB (4)
WR (4)
OL (9)
FB (1)
TE (2)
ST (2)
They did but that’s when it was a TE centric offense. They have equally as often replaced TE3 with a fb or OL.They've had 2 TEs and a H-back/TE3 multiple times in the 2010s. What i'm suggesting is the norm.

I agree that is what they have done but I just don't see it changing much from a snap count and personnel standpoint. They did but that’s when it was a TE centric offense. They have equally as often replaced TE3 with a fb or OL.
8 OL
2 QB
We’ll see. Personally I think the TE is being de emphasized. But even if not, my point is why do we need 3 on the roster? Can’t the OL who is the 3rd TE in jumbo packages fill that role? Can’t devlin at fb be the alternative to an hback? He kind of has been.I agree that is what they have done but I just don't see it changing much from a snap count and personnel standpoint.
Plus we have no idea how any of these WRs (or TEs for that matter) will work out.
We do know that running the ball successfully is critical in the red zone and everywhere else.
Play action will also be part of that.
Some weeks they'll play a lot of 2TE some less.
Have we ever carried 9?I'm fine with both.
I'll start a separate thread on OL's.
2 years ago. We typically carry 8 or 9.Have we ever carried 9?

I’d be interested to see how often we have had 3 true TEs actually see snaps in a game.
Holister at times was te3 but that was really only for sts.
I think we are more likely to keep 2, have one on the ps in the event of injury, and use the game day active OT3 on short yardage.
I’m positive that at least for the last 5 years or so that OT3 saw more snaps in a te soot than the TE3 did.
We will have to agree to disagree. For me, as I said earlier it's a combination of reasons why they will keep 3 TEs but keep in mind one of them will be LaCosse and he is a "move" TE (IMO a big WR as he played a ton in as a slot WR as well)) so in essence they will only keep two true TEs who can in-line block. I'm guessing it's gonna be Uncle Ben and ASJ as the "in-line" TEs but who knows.
The other reason is - and I agree with you- is they want to de-emphasize the TE in the passing game (if they still had a prime Gronk that would not change) but they still want the schematic, game-plan flexibility, unpredictability element. Having ASJ and Ben on either side gives them that.
Certainly they can get by with only two TEs on the roster and have Dev be the TE3 but with LaCosse also a decent STer (102 snaps last year) he has value aside from being just a move TE.
So net-net, if we want to look at it from a depth chart and not a roster standpoint...

so, you are fine with 4 WR's and 2 TE's, or do you want a 5th receiver instead of a 3rd TE.We will have to agree to disagree.
