A Hooman reunion wouldn't surprise me, but not sure how anyone could expect him to be on the final roster with no signs of interest from the team yet.

Isn’t Brooks primarily a special teamer like Ebner is? It would seem like we’ll need to pick up another safety or convert someone who’s already on the roster.

I also suspect they’ll pick up a veteran offensive tackle and defensive lineman as well.

Makes me wonder if McCourty and JJ Williams will see some Safety reps. Duke Dawson may look at that route for some playing time as well. Just my uninformed opinion.

Everything the team does in coverage is predicated on the defensive matchup. No question the NEP are a "man" team but there were some instances the team played CBs as safeties or in a "zone" package.

In 2019 I see that match up strategy expanding.

    WR
I'd have Gordon on suspension and Myers on the Practice Squad. I don't think that we'll carry 5 unless it is so that we can include a KR like Ellington. The 4th and 5th WR have very, very few receptions.

    DL
I think that 8 is not enough. These guys play lots of roles. I think that we need a 9th, who could be a true backup, or a developmental player. I have Davis at this point.

    BOTTOM LINE
I accept 52 of your players, amazing at this point. I just would have Davis (DE) instead of Gordon.

IMO, we need 2 DL's. a TE and an OT as upgrades to Davis, Parry, Croston and LeCosse (although ASJ might start on PUP).

So who’s at KR and PR? Would ideally like to relieve Edelman from having to return punts. Ellington has experience at both spots. Feels like they’ll bring another body in at some point.

First, I note that Belichick has no problem using Edelman, even if there are other options.

That being said, I would hope that Harry will be our punt returner.

With regard to KR, that role isn't really that important any more. One option is to use any of Chung, Develin and Bolden. If we want to carry 5 WR's, Ellington would be a good choice, if he is deemed an OK taking a limited role as a WR.

That is very possible. I guess I am sleeping on him a bit. However if Thomas produces and Gordon comes back you just can't justify keeping him I think. The other guys would be so much better. I do wonder about who will return punts and kick offs, but to me that is a small time concern if you don't have an elite guy doing it as long as they can hold on to the ball. Unless someone is a really special returner you get very little value out of that spot.

I thought Maurice Harris was the more intriguing signing of the 2 vets we signed a few months ago.

So much for that. Next attempt:
Edelman - Dorsett - Mo Harris - Henry - Meyers
(Thomas - PUP; Gordon - SUS)
PS candidates: Barrio - Patterson - Ry Davis - Ubosi

Not exactly fear-striking, especially given the TE situation. Disappointed that they were unable to draft another WR...or Any TE, but I digress...
I hope they know something encouraging about Gordon & Thomas that we don't.

I included DT Danny Shelton because until he signs with another team, I still like the chances of his re-signing here.

I could not decide how to further reduce the roster from 56 to 53, so I'll let the unfortunate toll of injuries cull the extra 3 bodies...some possibilities include Mo Harris vs Mister Anderson for one spot, Schwenke vs Karras for another, and Christian Sam vs ObiWan for the 3rd.

I just don't see how Donkey Thomas can avoid starting the season on PUP.

    No backup Center?

The Derek Rivers Experiment finished already?

I am really Really hoping that both Christian Sam & ObiWan are given every reasonable chance to supplant the Brandons on STs.
