Pats sign Dontrelle Inman

I think he will be really a very good help if he will play like a couple of years ago when he was with the Bolts

Some thoughts interesting he had 4 offers
Also hope this isn't reflective to Gordon.
What made BB hate smurfs now and Braxton Berrios needs a significant injury to make this roster.
Also could In man take a special teams spot from one of our st only players.

1) check out our red zone stats on offense last year.

2) take Gronk away from that group

3) the specific guys he is signing are all salary cap cheap - drafting Harry, 2 UDFAs, reclamation projects (injury, drug, sucking).

So all together, we lost our general red zone size mismatch with Gronk and weren’t the best with him there anyway, so BB is attempting to replace that in the best way he knows how - buy a bunch of lottery tickets and hope to hit on a couple of them.

And to the question of “where are the smurfs?” Well, they still have Edelman. But I still think we’re going to see a lot more dual back sets, and the “smurfs” will be Whitr, Michel and Harris in the passing game if all goes well. They really want a two-way back, and the latter two still have the chance to be that.

Dorsett is a shrimp at 5-10

Edelman-Dorsett-Harry -3 UDFAs- Berrios and Patterson - Demaryus Thomas - Josh Gordon - Dontrelle Inman

Something's gotta give.

This makes me wonder if BB got some suspension news about Gordon, or a health update on Thomas, or if he's just trying to let it all play out.
This happens every year. People act like signing players is a secret development with other players.
It’s not. We are creating competition and depth. Hell we just cut Ellington so roster wise it a net no change.

At this point other than Edelman no one is assured of a spot whether due to health, age, production, ability etc.

There is nothing lost in singing this guy and having him not make the team.

Well, if you buy into what this article is selling ...

His Passing Numbers Don't Lie: Tom Brady Really Is Getting Old

As he has gotten older Tom is having a tougher time with the longer throws. While still accurate but not as accurate as he once was, theoretically could benefit from bigger targets with a larger catch radius to throw to.
I believe you, but I was going over some sack stats for a comment I made on PFT, and I happened to notice that the "declining" Brady was the playoff's top passer by over 200 yds. The Pats pass offense was by far the best, and their run game was better by close to 3o0yds.

BTW- New Dolphins DC Patrick Graham after being asked about the Dolphin pass rush after losing their top 2 pass rushers, was quoted saying good pass rushing could be "schemed".

I noted that while the Pats were at the bottom of the league in sack stats during the season, the LED all the playoff teams with 10 sacks. (2nd place team had 7). And most of those sacks came on 4 man rushes with a lot of stems between the DL and LB's (and KVN led ALL sackers with 3, though IIIRC no patriot player had more than 7 during the regular season.

If i were a Miami fan, I'd be quite excited about the future of my team. The Phins have been saying and doing a lot of good things this off season.

As for Inman, throw enough crap against the wall and some of it will stick. Gordon and Thomas are 2 BIG question marks, so you have to prepare for either or both of them won't suit up anytime soon....if ever.

Harry is a lock.

Sign a Smurf? Intriguing idea.
At least then I will not be the only blue guy in town.

Hmm Dorsett might have to fight for his spot.
Next to Edelman and Harry, I think Dorsett is pretty safe if not a lock.

I think at this point last year Britt and the guy from Eagles (Jordan Matthews?) were pencilled in and it still took 33 or something transactions at the position to end up with squad that they did, which essentially was what they had all along with JE, Dorsett and Hogan.

IMO, things look sunnier at the position this year, especially if Harry can contribute quickly and JE stays healthy. Almost just need one or two more viable bodies after that and they are probably better than last year. Fingers crossed.

Edelman, Harry, Dorsett, Inman and a UDFA Very good IMO

It's the Patriots, so it may mean nothing in the end, but McDaniels was asked about the receivers being tall now, and he made it a point to talk about Dorsett being on the team as a shorter receiver.
