Where Will We Sign Or Trade For Players

The Nfl pension is weak. But it is more money than what I get that is for sure. I think someone with 10 years gets close to 80,000 a year and that doubles with the annuity. This is after age 60. as far as the off the field earnings I don't see how him playing/Working out 15 weeks a year. Puts a damper on the outside earnings. I would take the opposite tack and say that being an active member of the NFL enhances it. Gronks roles for the next couple of years will probable consist of a hundred lines of dialog.
Where are you reading this information? Here is the retirement plan.

It’s the 2008 version; article 53 of the 2011 CBA increased the schedule:

There’s no 10 year doubling. Just a flat amount for every year of service (with the flat amount varying depending on actual year) payable as an annuity beginning at age 55. Need to play in 3 games (any game except the Pro Bowl qualifies) to earn a benefit for that season. Am I missing something?

From a write up in investopia comparing pro sports retirement plans. As Far as doubling the amount by means of the Annuity, that was a recollection of what Ted Johnson speaking on his retirement/ health issues. as far as the 80,000 goes it is really about 70,000

"Players who retired in the '80s and '90s receive anywhere from $3,000-5,640 per month for every season played in the NFL. Newly retired players (since 1998) receive $5,640 monthly for every year of service. Players with 10 years of service receive an additional retirement bonus in the form of an annuity."

Some members here have a lot of hope and wish that Gronk will come back half way through the season. Apparently the thought is that with 2-3 extra months off he will be fully healed from his list of injuries and able to compete at full speed . I do not believe this will happen. If he tries this he will inevitably get hurt again.

Here is a question: if camp does not prepare and condition a player to play football (at any level) , why have camp?

Still a lot of inured, old, washed up, has been, never been, JAG, roster fodder available.
Free Agency Update: 2019 NFL Free Agent Tracker - Fantasy Columns

TE - Maybe trade for Rudolph or look at Gresham, Gates, Watson
DE - Ray, Perry, Ansah
DL - Suh, Bailey, Luiget

Pick your gem...

Bring back Shelton. Sign Luiget.

Possibly trade for Brate from TB. They're up against the cap and have OJ Howard. If one of the young interior linemen shows promise, offer up Thuney as we're likely to lose him anyway.

Conditional pick for Solomon Thomas??? After the draft, where does he fit in with SF?

What about TE Jack Doyle? Great size @ 6’6” 262 pounds. He’s an excellent run blocker & we already know he can catch it. Coming off of an injury (hip) & stealing him from a “rival”??? Sounds like BB 101

And why would the Colts trade him?

First of all, anybody’s available for the right price. Second, they have a superior talent in Ebron.
He’s coming off of an injury.
IND also has 4 other TEs on the roster.

That’s why.

So Indy might trade him if:

1. The Patriots offer an excessive amount in trade value
2. He's not recovered from his injury
3. Other TEs on the roster are better.

In that case, why would the Patriots want him? Indy might not resign him next year and take the comp pick, but if he can still play I see no reason why they would give him up this year.

Indy will not deal with NE

Ballard declared war on the Patriots in February of 2018 when McDaniels decided not to become their coach. It wasn’t nearly as hostile before then.

Good point. I forgot about the McDaniels fiasco.
