Belichick has re-signed/tendered Dorsett and Gordon. He has added DeCosse, Harris and Ellington. Belichick has added Thomas and ASJ.

THE STATUS QUO
If everyone is available, Brady will have an OK set of receivers (especially given that we have solid RB receivers).

Please correct me. I don't believe that we have any WR's or TE's signed for 2020, except for those at the bottom of the chart like Izzo, LeCosse and Berrios.

We have WR's signed through 2019: Edelman, Dorsett, Gordon, Thomas, Harris, and Ellington.

We have TE's signed through 2019: ASJ
We have TE's signed through 2020: LeCosse, Izzo

Cool.

Regarding the actual players: it is a work in progress.
Nothing to write home about.

Is this sarcasm?

Some progress has been made, but we’re not quite there yet

Until Gordon's status is determined we need to add more size to the WR room through the draft and more speed.

Based on what I've read, in my dream draft the Pats would end up with Hakeem Baker and Andy Isabella some where between the 2nd and 4th rounds. That would satisfy a LOT of our WR needs and bring a LOT of potential to the WR room for now and into the future.

Throw in Warring or Sternberger into the mix and maybe we will stop creating threads anytime a WR becomes available.

I see a trade for a veteran WR around draft time or take a WR in rounds 2-4. I think they’ll take at least one TE with their early picks as well. Wouldn’t shock me if they double dip as they did in 2010.

There is a lot to learn about the FA receivers the Patriots signed. I won't take anything for granted.

Seems like the same strategy as last year, lots of low risk gambles that could potentially pay off. Last year it left us pretty weak at wr other than the weeks Gordon stayed active, perhaps this year we’ll find better luck.

Agree, I feel this might be another year we go with Dobson, Kembrell Thompkins and Jules as week 1 starters.

Bill always acquires depth with potential upside before the draft.

I still want one of the Iowa TE's Hoch is a complete beast but Fant is going to be a terror to LB's - Safeties and CB's over the middle and on the outsides.

I would temper expectations about how much the rookie WRs/TEs will contribute this year. Gronk himself said when he was a rookie he knew nothing. I think Bill knows this and brought in Thomas to add another veteran who had played for Josh before.

Tough to say lots of progress when we don't know when Gordon will be allowed back and when he is back if he'll be able to stay clean. History shows us he won't be able to stay clean for an extended period of time.

Thomas is recovering from a bad injury. Who knows if he'll be able to start the season and if he'll still have enough left in the tank when he does return.

ASJ is another question mark. He's been a disappointment since he's come into the league and had injuries.

Still a ton of question marks. We will need to draft talent and hope we hit on those picks, and even if we do hit on them we can't count on them as rookies to be at the top of their games. The Pats playbook isn't easy for receivers to learn.
