The draft

His strength is vs. the run and all you hear is "pass-happy" league and "interior pressure," etc.

BB knows better - the playoffs last year proved it. You need to be stout against the run.

Question with Lawrence is: have the other coaches caught up to this, yet? If Lawrence is there at 32 (heck with 56), I wouldn't cry if the Pats leaped all over that.

I agree. I think coverage is the most important, run defense 2nd most important then pass rush and then tackling.

If dexter falls to the 2nd someone is getting a steal.

The pass happy ways of the league actually makes the Dexter Lawrences of the world even more valuable as you’re consistently trying to defend the run with 5 to 6 DBs in your huddle. Having a guy stout enough to command a double team on every run play sure helps. Lawrence is that kind of player.

Patriots continue looking at quarterbacks

The Patriots are among the teams doing plenty of homework on this year’s quarterback class.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Patriots have had Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham and Northwestern’s Clayton Thorson in for visits recently.

They’ve also brought in West Virginia’s Will Grier and Duke’s Daniel Jones for visits, scanning that second tier of quarterbacks for someone of value.

Would really like Grier to have him grow behind Tom. I think Jones is going before Haskins though, and a trade up is the only way we could get him.

Seattle has their QB, and they need picks in this year's draft. BB should use that to grab an extra first in next year's draft.

No Lock?
I've seen some mocks sending him here and I'm intrigued by him.

I don’t think Lock makes it past Denver. We could bring him in for a visit but like Bradley Chubb last year BB will let him know we won’t be taking him since he won’t be around at 32.

I'm a big Grier fan. I think he's a winner, and a warrior. I would love to see the Pats draft Grier and his WR David Sills.

Agreed, but I want the other WR, Jennings.

I would not mind Little at 56, 64 or 73.
Not at 32 though.
This draft is so deep at WR it seems crazy to throw such big money at receiver with the depth you can get a good number 2 receiver in the fourth round in this draft.
I expect BB to do what he always does he will draft a D tackle in the first round over 300 pounds.
As BB says finding these guys who are athletic with a extra 30 or 40 pounds is a advantage.
Anyone thinking we go WR in the first unless we are staring at the next deandre Hopkins is crazy.

I'm on board with Dexter, Tillery and AJ at 32. All future Pro Bowlers to me. OT at 32 is not enough value for me. Jonah isn't falling and the others look like decent pros but not game changers at all.

Not that we really have a shot (assuming we stand pat) at either prospect, but I’m willing to bet the house that either HOU or TEN will draft Hock or Fant. They always seem to draft players “we” want.

....Luckily I live in an apartment :D

TEN for sure.

Makes sense considering their "New England South". Look at all the coaches & players that have made a living getting paid for what happened here.

Yeah, if HOU doesn’t draft an OT, O’Brien should be stoned.
I'd be shocked if 2 out of their first 4 weren't OL help. Easily bottom 5 unit w a vg young QB. Have to fix that.

The way I look at it, after the Pats SIXTH Super Bowl win, If Belichick wanted Little at #32, I'd be fine with it. I'm fine with whoever Belichick picks, from now until he retires.

There's a difference between OUR preferences and what Belichick feels is right for the team. I ALWAYS love the #32 draft slot. So whoever he picks, it's a bonus IMO.

Little would fit a need, though I'm not sure he's ever played LT. Tackle depth is kinda light on the Pats at this moment. Wynn is coming off of an achilles, not sure if he can win the LT position right away. So Little could wind up a Patriot.
