Chris Hogan Signs With Panthers

I'm just going to echo what most have written. Glad we signed him. He made significant contributions during his 3 years here. But it was time for him to go. Happy he found a landing spot. Sorry that it's going to be such a long commute home during the season

I'm okay with this. Thanks for your good work while you were here Chris. Like someone said above, I am surprised he went even further away from his wife and twins. This must be all that was available to him.

Happy to see he is able to continue his career. Good luck to him going forward. Now they need to sign another dude to replace him.

Good bye.

Maybe a comp pick for the Patriots if he signed for enough.

I didnt think we were going to sign him this year. I wish him well, he was a part of two super bowls so I thank him.

Thanks to Hogan and luck to him and his family with the Panthers

2 time champ - anyone asked yet? Pats HOF???

I'm grateful for everything that Hogan did here, but now that he's on the Panthers I'll only root for him if it'll help the Pats.

Did not have a good year last year but better than most of our current wide receivers.

I am not really sad about this but I think he was an excellent Patriot. I really like the guy.

And I loved his leaps of joy at the end of big games!

Best of luck to him!!

I would have signed him back for familiarity the Pats are really hedging their bets on the Draft.

played in three straight super bowls.....doubt if he will make it 4 in a row....wish him the best...he made some big plays for the Pats while here.

PS - that photo of him signing does not look like he's enjoying it.

Yes all the best to Chris Hogan. He gave us plenty to cheer about and glad he stands a chance to earn another good paycheck.

Glad he is not here as one of the few faults TB12 has is locking onto known receivers. Hogan is mediocre at best and we need to develop a new receiving corps. His being here could limit that.
We definitely have given ourselves the non-revocable opportunity to develop a new receiving corps. As in, we ain't got none at present outside of squirrel.

He just can’t get open anymore... Good luck to him and hopefully this is a lucrative move for him with retirement fast approaching.

Hogan mirrored Lafell’s career arc here:

  • Sign a mid/low level multi year contract. Prove to be a bargain as an effective WR2 & a key piece in a SB run.
  • Kinda just fall out of favor over time. Hogan was decent in 2017 but truly bad efficiency wise last year. 93rd in WRs in yards per route run. 590 yards/3 TDs in 19 games & over 1,000 snaps just won’t cut it.
Thanks for the contributions & the clutch catch vs. KC in the AFC Title game. His production per snap should easily be improved upon in 2019 whether by a rookie or Dorsett.

This has become our formula for WR2 lately; I'd argue Gordon fits the profile too since the investment was so low. I like the approach.

Pat's hall of fame?

Best of luck to him.
