Kraft Orchids Case - Prosecuters Want a Tug Rule?

Not sure why everyone is riding the cops on this one. Let's assume they messed the case completely up. What does that have to do with whether Kraft is guilty or not? He's not being charged with sex trafficking and you have to ask yourself, "do I think he did it"? If you think he was dating this woman and decided the best place to go out for a date was at her place of business or he was at this seedy strip mall to get a massage, then more power to you. If you think he was up to something illegal, then what the cops did is purely a procedural issue. Either way, the issue is what he did or didn't do. Everything else is smoke and mirrors. He's paying his lawyer to redirect your attention to the legal aspect of it and away from Kraft's guilt or innocence.

Let's be clear, the cops could have done everything wrong and that may legally clear Kraft but that really isn't the issue. The procedural questions are what his team of lawyers wants you to focus on though and why he's paying for them
I agree with you overall but my particular issue with this case has never been about Kraft's innocence. I don't believe he is innocent. He basically acknowledged that with his first statement where he didn't deny the sex acts but that he didn't do anything illegal. I also believe there was a prostitution operation running out of these spas. Finally, I believe the cops were well within their rights to go out and bust the operation if they thought it posed a danger to their community.

My issue has been strictly with the planting of the cameras in the private massage rooms to bust the prostitution operation. The fact they lied to get the warrant to allow them to do that and the fact that it was totally unnecessary and an overreach of the purpose of those types of warrants. I'm personally not comfortable allowing the police to have the right to nilly willy plant cameras like this to go after minor crimes. They could have easily proved their case without the videos.

Kraft is a big boy and can defend himself. Idc if he is found guilty. However, I hope a judge finds the cops overreached in their methods and throws the warrants out because to me that has far more reaching consequences than nabbing a bunch of dudes that wanted their johnsons yanked.

I don't pretend to speak for anyone else on this but in so far as Kraft goes my perception is the bulk of the damage has already been done. His image is forever tarnished, it's just a matter of degree. In the larger sense the 'procedural issue' matters a great deal to me. When the police are resorting to methods that are far more unacceptable than the crime they are seeking to prevent I don't like where we are headed.

A few have spent more time posting in this thread than Kraft spent inside Orchids.

I still admire Kraft. Why wouldn’t I? If more people were like him, the world would be a better place.

I'm probably one of the guilty so I counted my posts = 10.3 pages worth
How in the world is this up to 254 pages. Lol

I believe Senior Bob thought he was taking his high blood pressure medication but instead he mistakenly popped a little blue pill.
I believe Senior Bob was filled with fright and concern regarding immediate risks to his health that may result in long term damage.
I believe tech savy Senior Bob located the local hospital emergency room app that displayed an elongated waiting time.
I believe Senior Bob was frantic with concern and contacted his concierge physician who offered Bob an alternative that would provide immediate relief at a substantially reduced cost compared to the outlandish copay Senior Bob would be charged at the local emergency room.
I believe Senior Bob made the correct decision during this life and death episode.
I believe Senior Bob whipped out his Uber Bentley app and hired transportation to deliver this distressed senior in comfort during this most difficult and traumatic episode.
I suspect Senior Bob or his concierge physician notified Asian Orchids of the critical condition of the inbound patient.
I believe senior Asian Orchid management handle critical care patients personally and were in life saving position for his imminent arrival.

To summarize:
Senior Bob used a cost effective, alternative medicine remedy to solve his life threatening issue.
Refusing to tie up an overcrowded hospital emergency room was a selfless act that should be celebrated.

I believe Senior Bob had another senior moment the next day and Senior Bob was very fortunate that these far eastern nightingales were able to save this great man once again.

OT: I also believe Senior Bob will use all medical cost savings to sign and fund better WRs.

Sounds like a political statement based on lies.

Judge Howard "Billy Ray" Coates....HE signed the Orchid warrants

The Sun Yee On triad is behind all these chinese "spas" in South Florida. It is their territory. Once again, where are the Feds in this case, if, as has been pounded home for months, there was "human trafficking!!!" going on? That's a federal offense, if ,as "expert" ace reporter AJ has stated, these women are "slaves!" held against their will, after being brought over here. Gee whiz golly willickers, I would think that an organized crime arm of one of the biggest triads in South China, operating right out in the open in front of Buford T Justice and & the SoFla Pinhead Posse, would pique the interest of the FBI, INS and DHS.
So far...crickets....

Dude I haven’t reported or claimed to know anything. I have only discussed the meaning and significance of the facts that were reported.

nice spin. You KNOW what you were pushing weeks ago. NO ONE says and keeps saying "human trafficking!" in hundreds of posts without thinking THAT is an eventual reality. Keep spinning though....can't wait to see what continent you end up on when this whole tawdry, small town passion play comes to an ignominious conclusion.

The procedural questions are what his team of lawyers wants you to focus on though and why he's paying for them. They aren't arguing that he didn't do it and they aren't arguing the morality of prostitution. They are focusing on the procedure and sex trafficking ro redirect your attention because that is where they want it.
That’s because the procedural issues are far more important than the misdemeanors committed

There never was any trafficking issue with this case. But the social justice tin soldiers (funny term, isn’t it?) will keep using the term.

Knowing the feds refused to get involved in this case combined with the unfolding bafoonery of the local police, let’s pray this ends up being a laughing stock on a national level. I’m sure that’s what Patriot fans would love to see

The only dopes hoping this was tied to trafficking are Patriots haters. I mean, can you imagine a Patriots fan that kinda hoped they had discovered a human trafficking link to this particular spa? They get their arse run out of New England real quick like, ya hear:cool:

The prosecutor said “human trafficking”, so that got picked up by ESPN and trumpeted every news cycle, even though Kraft was only charged with soliciting. So now Kraft is forever tarred with that.

Forever.

You may rail at the ‘injustice’ of it, but politically ambitious prosecutors overcharge much more serious crimes everyday (e.g. Kamalatoe bringing criminal charges against parents of truant kids).

In the big scheme of things it doesn’t matter if he gets off on a technicality or not, it is going to be forever ingrained in people’s minds that Bob Kraft took advantage of ‘trafficked’ women.

You can argue your bs points with Andy all day long but that is the sorry truth. And 250 pages of whining isn’t going to change that.

And as much as it pains me to say this, Bob Kraft has only himself to blame for his predicament, and for letting the franchise and the fans all down.
