2019 Pro Days

Van Ginkel had a great performance at the Combine and then ran in the 4.5s at his pro day. Impressive numbers for an underrated prospect.

If you want to see Van Ginkel's upside, check out his first few plays against Ohio State last year. His tape is full of splash plays (interceptions, forced fumbles, blocked kicks, sacks, etc), but he struggled a bit as a full time player. He needs to get stronger against the run. I do love his ability to play in space, however. He's legitimately able to cover.

Also, this isn't just because he's a white LB with long blond hair, but check out this comparison:

Other than bench press, he outperforms Matthews across the board. I'd love to bring this kid in here in the mid - late rounds and let him cut his teeth on special teams while he adds mass and strength. He could probably play around 250 - 255 after a year or two in the program.

Ferrell has been one of my favorite players for two years now. If he's not able to work out, maybe he'll fall a little. If he makes it to 32 I can't think of a more perfect match.

Clelin Ferrell not working out at Clemson Pro Day

Still looking for full numbers. Apparently Lamar ran a 7.15 3-cone, which is better than people projected for him as a bigger LB. I think he's a better athlete than given credit for. EDIT: Well, maybe he's not. But I still think he can play ILB in a scheme like ours as long as he's subbed out in more obvious passing situations.

Ooof. I was hoping for a bit better showing from Hodge. Maybe he can still put together a career like Brandon Spikes did? They're not far apart athletically. Oh! Nevermind. I see he dropped down from 250 to test better, and still couldn't put up better marks.

Watts interests me as a late round rotational guy, though. Decent technique.

We could always use him to cover an OT playing designated receiver....so long as it’s not Lane Johnson or Terron Armstead.

Posting some older Pro Day results which may've gone under the radar

FCS PRO DAYS: Samford QB Devlin Hodges Throws For Scouts QB Devlin Hodges is the biggest name but WR Kelvin McKnight flashed with a 4.62 40 and 6.98 3 Cone time.

UMaine football players make impressions during pro day Notable since it's the Northeast and the Patriots usually have a scout in attendance, which they did here: "The New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers were among the teams represented." LB Sterling Sheffield sounds like a guy who could be a ST cover guy at the NFL level, a tweener between LB and SS size.

Tennessee State Holds Annual Pro Day Results from the Tennessee State Pro Day. Spotlight will be on OL Chidi Okeke

MCGILL: Football Pro Day draws 30 scouts to Marshall - Marshall University Athletics Marshall Pro Day Results with Patriots as one of the teams in attendance. WR Tyre Brady is the biggest name but DE Ryan Bee's a name to keep an eye out for.

Pretty solid numbers at that size.

WR KeeSean Johnson
One of my favorite WRs in the entire draft.

2019 NFL Draft Player Profiles: Fresno State WR Keesean Johnson - Steelers Depot

That's one of the best 60 yard shuttles I've seen. OBJ ran 10.93, for reference. Johnson has the best catches I've seen in this class. Effortlessly plucks the ball out of the air. His quickness shows up consistently. I'm not sure he's truly a 4.4 guy (his combine performance was quite poor), but I believe these agility numbers align much more closely with the tape than his previous testing would indicate. Nice sleeper option.
