CB Eric Rowe to sign with Miami.....

So now we've lost 5 FAs, Brown and Flowers, Patterson, Allen and Rowe. A team can get a max of 4 compensatories and first offset is number sign versus number lost so now they can sign a low level FA and it won't offset the number of picks ( still at 4)... Who knows who else they lose...???

Yes he was picked but you can’t go underneath them. I agree Juju should’ve also been pushed out out bounds but Glitch Richards thought they were playing two hand touch. And I don’t even think he touched him.

His head was completely turned toward the QB. How was he supposed to see that coming? It's a prime example of why pick plays are SUPPOSED* to be illegal.

This guy...

The first catch lost us the Superbowl. The second one, almost did.

Allen was cut so he doesn't count for comp picks

I know Rowe turned sour on a lot of people on here but he was worth the 4th round pick, he really helped us in 2016.

He got picked. Hard to fault him for that. The real pathetic "effort" there came from Glitch. Effectively took two would-be tacklers completely out of the play with one of his signature horrific angles.
I was quietly rooting hard for him to succeed somehow. I remember someone pointing out his Senior bowl or shrine game performance when he was drafted. It didn't look good but I just hoped he would somehow transform himself physically. Unrealistic hope, and he didn't pan out. One of the worst safety picks in the BB era.

MUCH too hard an assessment on Rowe. In this day and age you can find clips of EVERY CB in the league giving up big plays. So finding a few of Rowe's low lights is no great accomplishment.

Over all, for a solid but not great NFL CB, Rowe earned his money for the 2 years he was on the field. Last year was a bust for him because of injuries. A groin injury is particularly hard on DB's. He also go beat out by JC Jackson.

I think if Jason McCourty wasn't available, the Pats would have brought him back. I think, at that price, he was a good signing for Miami as long as that groin issue isn't a chronic injury.

You're right. 4 down and they signed Bolden so it would be 3 picks anticipated..... until they lose one more..

Yes, I am sure you can talk about plays all CBs give up or make but for me the only plays that matter are the ones made in the biggest game on the biggest moment.

The only play from J Mac I will remember from 2018 5 years from now is this:

That's what separates players. Who cares about the plays Rowe made during the regular season or J Mac gave up during the regular season.

Isn't this the complaint we've all made about Peyton for years, turning up small in the biggest games. Or even of Logan Mankins amongst our own players. Or the argument for why Flowers is better than Jones, since Flowers made the biggest plays in the biggest games.

In that context criticizing Rowe for his putrid performance in the 2016 and 2017 Superbowls is completely relevant. I would argue if Rowe didn't go on IR we might never have known how good JC Jacjson was.

Any chance at a comp pick here or are we maxed out?

For some reason Eric Rowe always reminded me of Ellis Hobbs. Now I understand why.

I couldn't stand Ellis Hobbs.

Yet I never blamed him for that play or that superbowl loss.

Asante Samuel dropped a easy pick and Thomas should have had a sack against Eli that wasn't called in the dirt.

And this guy. Pathetic effort after getting beat on a damn drag route.

1) He had to avoid a clear pick
2) He WON the game 3 plays later

You may want to re-watch.

That's ok. We've got our SB backfield back and Rowe had a lot of trouble staying on the field when he was here.

Easily could have avoided the pick by not trying to go underneath it. Would have conceded the catch but would have been in a position to make a tackle

Nick Foles killed us!

Foles will now be paying for his crimes against the Football Gods by being exiled to Jacksonville, where gridiron dreams go to die. Although their stadium has a nice pool.

He really couldn’t. Loop the video and watch it as many times as you need to. By the time his head turns away front Ben, with the ball still in Ben’s hands mind you, he’s a half a step away from Gilmore and the WR he’s covering. Had he not try to go underneath, he’s trucking Gilmore and two guys are wide open from there with Gilmore’s guy likely going for 6.
