Kraft Orchids Case - Prosecuters Want a Tug Rule?

For me, this is the most puzzling question. Dude is worth 6 billion dollars. He can have orgies with the Victoria’s Secret angels on the 50 yard line, any time, day or night.

Or at least I thought so, prior to yesterday’s news.
Maybe living in that world can sometimes feel like a prison ...
Perhaps in an irrational moment he wanted to be just an average joe.

Well said:

Then Kraft will probably accept his inevitable suspension from the NFL while still trying to convince the public that, while he made a mistake, it does not define him. This will likely include a statement about not being “perfect” and apologizing to “anybody who was disappointed” and “working hard to earn back your trust.” He will say whatever he has to say, and pay a sizable fine or make a big donation, as long as the NFL lets him keep the Patriots.

Then Kraft will try to go back to being “Mr. Kraft” again. And that’s the problem here, when you get down to it. Most human-rights organizations say that tens of millions of people around the world are currently enslaved, and many of those are forced to be sex workers. They can’t go back.

And so if Kraft is indeed guilty of soliciting sex acts from slaves, he has a choice. He can publicly say how mortified he is that he participated, in any way, in something so vile, and he can put his money, time and status into addressing the epidemic. Or he can refuse to ever talk about it again. It just depends on whether he thinks this story is about human trafficking, or about Robert Kraft.

The Robert Kraft Story Is No Laughing Matter

Sorry but this is total bull ****. Kraft didn't get caught in some Thailand back alley having sex with underage girls that were clearly sold for sex. He was in a strip mall in the USA in Jupiter an affluent area of a very affluent County in Florida. Of course sex trafficking is disgusting and needs to be eliminated but busting old men getting massages will not even put a dent into reducing it. So while I'm positive everyone here supports eradicating human trafficking, this story is about good old Bob getting his rocks off while getting rubbed down, and to me its ****ing hilarious. This **** should not even be illegal. The only absurd thing about all of this is how hypocritical this society is when it comes to sex.

Either that, or the Orchid Day of Asia spa has some premium service packages.

I’m guessing that he was away from home in FL and this was the easiest option. At least I hope that was the case, for HJ Bob’s sake.

Joker's on fire tonight!

That said, the jokes that have been made about this situation have run the full spectrum. There are some jokes that have been high comedy, and then some that are really, really bad.

Hugh Grant had sex with a nasty cheap hooker when he had Liz Hurley at home and was at the peak of his popularity.

Tiger Woods screwed a Waffle House waitress against his car in the parking lot when he had his hot wife at home.

Male sexuality is what it is. Back in the day, a man could have sex at every rest area on rt 90 between Albany and Erie Penn.

I don’t think anyone is meaning to downplay the plight of the victims in any sort of way. At least I’m certainly not. I will stand against this by choosing never to go into this type of establishment. That’s the best course of action, in my opinion.

That said, we’re talking about a 77 year old man getting a happy ending at a day spa. There’s only so much darkness that I can experience in this particular situation.

If this gets hot enough the owners may ask Bob to step down as Chairman & CEO and have Jonathan take over.

If this is true what a ****ing moron. Old coot idiot.
Unfortunately that's the only thing to speculate about for the large majority of people, it's the whole story "Did he know?" "I think he did, how despicable!" "he probably helped run it", otherwise it's just a story about a rich, old single guy going to a massage parlor to get his happy ending.

Without the human trafficking element it's really just a shoulder shrug story imo. It boils down to whether you think he knew or not and if he was involved somehow.

I can only speculate as well but I think he's just fun time Bob these days and rolls around doing his thing not paying to much attention. He can barely speak after SB's, he's dancing around on stage with hot singers, hanging out with young hotties and probably frequenting many massage parlors half ****ed and clueless.

The story didn't surprise me in the least, just that one element which only becomes an issue if he knew.
This is why is should be mandatory that wives outlive their husbands -- keep them from doing stupid ***t.

Yeah don't get me wrong, I'm all about the jokes, as long as they're funny. I saw one about how the prostitution ring was Kraft's seventh ring  But some of them are horrible including on this thread. There needs to be a special dislike button just for bad jokes.

lol, I believe most women do, or at least told?! Both my grandmothers outlived my grandfathers by 10-15+ years...

According to some reports, Kraft is not the most high profile suspect in this mess. Any idea who that other suspect might be?

Hmmmm

Well maybe I’ll get crap for this...but...we’ve had numerous threads about the karmic revenge that’s hunted down every wrongdoer in the Deflategate story. There have been lists of bad fortune and/or scandals for dozens of players, execs, coaches, league officers, teams, etc. Can we add Bob Kraft to the list? That “31” speech and Neville Chamberlain surrender will live in infamy.

I think people are just trying to stay light in a bit of a stressful situation. I’m guessing that the humor will dissipate a bit over the next week or so once the idea has settled in.

I’d also like to take this moment to preface every joke that I ever make in the future with the understanding that it’s likely to be in poor taste. Most of them aren’t going to be as bad as the Kim Chee’s sister crack (which had absolutely nothing to do with race or anything like that), but that’s why I gave myself an asterisk ahead of time. :)

The fact that they’ve only released 25 names out of a reported 200 baffles me. I’m guessing that the idea was to draw more attention ahead of time.

Possibly a state senator or something like that? (guessing)

You are on to something here. When you’ve reached his level of wealth and celebrity, everyone wants something from you. It probably did appeal to him that he was likely anonymous to those working there. To most of us here, the fantasy would be high priced professionals applying their trade. For Mr. Kraft, the fantasy might have been that what the masseuse was doing was being done out of sincere human intimacy and not for hire.

I like how we always seem to think the worst of people. There’s no proof Mr. Kraft was aware some or all of the workers might be there against their will. If there was, you can be sure the ambitious prosecutors handling this would have charged him as such. Many posts I’ve read here are arguing that he should have known but how cynical have some of you become. Knowingly getting sexual favors from someone doing it against their will is an offense I wouldn’t accuse my worst enemy of doing without solid evidence of guilt. It’s that cruel of an offense.

What I really think is going on here is quite sad. I’ve been done this road twice with my grandfather and mother. Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease which doesn’t just make someone forgetful. It breaks down the personality of its victims making them prone to bad judgment and reckless behavior. Hopefully, this episode will serve as a wake up call to Mr. Kraft and his family to put measures in place to protect himself from actions that would further hurt his reputation and legacy.

Maybe the person the Pats hired to keep Josh Gordon from using could be better used keeping the owner away from embarrassing and criminal situations.

welp...our insiders here at JoeKerr's World Of Sports Investigations are checking on rumors that a certain heavy set man in his 70's sporting orange hair and tweeting furiously to Fox news was seen in the vicinity of the Orchid Day Spa holding this menu....hmmmm.....

Typical excellent piece from McCann on the legal aspects of this:
Understanding Robert Kraft’s charges of prostitution

(Mods: I put this in its own thread because it has some specific info and so it wouldn’t be buried in the mega-thread. I’d ask that you don’t merge it into that one, but I’m not going to have a hissy fit about it if you do.)
