I'm aware this could be posted in the NFL forum.....but felt it might not get the necessary clicks it deserved. Well said.....

His continued silence isn't the only thing that is detrimental to the integrity of the game. The very fact that he is in that position is.

Im not following the news this week, is there between fans and maybe some few names in the media, the idea that the NFL wanted a LA team in the SB? And between the 2, the Rams seems to be the most promissing organization since the Chargers is a joke...

Or another less likely alternative, stick it to the Saints?

I know they robbed the Pats in the last SB giving a TD to the Eagles with the receiver completing the catch out of bounds.

If all games were scrutinized post game many of them could be replayed.
The game has come a long way in getting the calls right ... some will still be missed.
Let coaches challenge anything within the rules of how many they get.

The guy missed a call. The Saints were still the overwhelming favorites to win it even after he missed the call. The Rams had to make two long field goals, the second after Brees gifted them an interception in overtime. The missed call was ****ty but the conspiracy theory crap is too much. The officials missed calls against the Saints too, and they gifted them a pass interference in overtime to make up for it.

I don't think I've ever bought into a conspiracy theory in my life but that non call stinks to high heaven. It isn't far fetched the league wanted that particular LA team to win, gotta sell those high end P$Ls. Since the Chargers don't get anything out of it they are practically giving there's away and Rams sales have been slow. Kroenkes over priced palace is not just going to be the home of two teams but it is also going to be the new home of the NFLN. Yeah, no conflict of interest there...

I'm a huge fan of Watson, both on and off the field, but I think he's letting his emotions get the better of him on this one. The Saints still had numerous chances, on offense and defense, to stop the Rams, but they failed to overcome the (admittedly horrendous) no call call.

Hashtag, integrity.

Sorry maust, there is no way that the NFL told the refs "make sure you call the game so that the Rams make it to the Super Bowl." No effin way.

Watson's comment is great. He is not asking for a do-over. He is waiting for and requesting a comment from the leader of the league to address an egregious non-call.

All it would take is "We made a mistake... people are not perfect and the game is not perfect but we will keep trying to improve it." It is the least that Goodell could do in such a situation, though we all know that Goodell usually does much less than the least.

I'm not saying the league did rig it. But it's not as though the theory is "man didn't land on the moon" foolish either. Whenever I so much as glance at the crap most conspiracy theories are assembled from they fall apart pretty quick, this one not so much. So if you can give me a plausible explanation for how not one but four separate officials whose responsibilities would have put them in position to see that play all 'missed' it I will gladly consider it.

I agree they messed up big time. But it's time to move on.

All teams especially the Pats have been screwed.
Get over it, and move on.
Sir GotoHell, doesn't care. Good luck trying to change it.
See you in court.

Enough already.

I hate Goodell as much as anyone, aside from Joker, but I'm not sure what people expect him to say. The ref screwed up. It sucks, but it happens.

i was hesitant to read his comments, since my love and respect for BW , didn't want to taint that view of him but watson is correct, Goodell silence is deafening, he should at least address it for the better of overall of the league , as you know, brady was suspended for less, do it for the integrity of the league

I understand the rage over the obvious and absurd no call.. but on the Rams last possession, the Saints defenders should have prevented the Rams from getting a field goal, right ? But no- so it goes to OT.. Drew Brees & the Saints O wins the coin toss. Brees tosses an interception on the drive.
Yes, the no-call was a gross failure on the officials part, but NO blaming the entire loss on that one play is pathetic. Their failure to prevent Rams from scoring, and their Offense turning the ball over is why they lost. The coaches & players placing all responsibility on one missed call is a weak cop-out.
Who knows what might have happened had the penalty been called- ball at the spot of the foul & Brees throws a RZ pick on the following play for all we know. Sh*t happens in football, take advantage of your opportunities.
Also- I don’t believe for one second it was rigged, the NYFL would’ve loved to have a Brady vs Brees Super Bowl. The “veterans battle” headlines would literally write themselves.
