Here's a way of looking at things I haven't thought of before.

Both the Jets and Pats have employed three of the top coaches in the recent past: Parcells, Pete Carroll, and Belichick.

Parcells took the Pats to the playoffs twice including one Super Bowl. Parcells took the Jets to one playoffs.

Carroll took the Pats to the playoffs twice. The Jets fired him after one year.

Belichick took the Pats to the Super Bowl nine times, winning at least five. The Jets named him coach twice for political reasons while never intending him to coach, causing him to bolt for the Pats.

Funny how things work out.
