just think....we were robbed of a Brady/Brees superbowl.

Bad calls are ruining all sports especially the NFL. They have replay I know the games would be longer but certainly fairer if they watched the tape after all calls or ones in the red zone and end zone. It's unfair if they call certain calls outside of the 20 yard zone but not within. Just my opinion.

I can feel a good Rams hatred beginning to build inside me now...
Yep. In the Super Bowl because of a horrible call, and are one of those teams who tries to buy their Super Bowl Win (Talib, Cooks, Suh, Peters)

Bad call at a bad time on a big stage with all the chips at stake.

But, yea, everybody gets them. They had three more chances to win the game after that. Stop the Rams at the end, score a TD in OT, stop the Rams in OT. The last Rams FG was a pretty low probability kick at that.

Right, I saw a Good Morning Football clip that talked about what winning another Superbowl would do to Brees’s and Brady’s Legacy. They said if Brees wins the SB the GOAT debate will be blown wide open, especially if he goes through Brady. I was like WTF.

I like Drew Brees and feel very bad for the Saints. But I’m kind of glad this phantom “GOAT debate” is dead without them playing each other. Brees and Brady faced the exact same situation at the end of the game. Their respective performance showed exactly who the GOAT is.
Brady needs number six to even further cement his GOAT status and fend off these silly challenges.

It will never end. It took YEARS for Brady to overtake Montana. And rightfully so. Took 5 SB wins to finally do it. 2 for Brees and them saying that would “blow it wide open” just shows how much lack of respect Brady really has.

To even think that is ridiculous.

Probably the only other state in the country outside of New England

I've lived in Los Angeles for two years and until the playoffs saw more Patriots gear on Angelenos than anything supporting the Rams.

I’d say it is more of a lack of understanding and appreciation for elite, consistent dominance in a league where that’s almost impossible. When Brady retires and everyone realizes just how far away his accomplishments are ahead of the #2 guy, there will be a very clear recognition of his status as not just the greatest to play, but very likely to greatest who ever will play.

Wishful thinking. Once Brady retires...the next GOAT will be crowned. The SB wins and appearances will be dismissed for whatever reason of the day. You are already seeing it with Mahomes. All the teeth gnashing over “Showtime” being denied his chance for the storybook ending he deserved. That’s the mentality Brady and his legacy are dealing with.

I hate it but that’s society and sports media today. Aaron Rodgers will be Aaron who? Elway who? Montana who? So sad.

If people are still raving about Terry Bradshaw 40-45+ years later, they’ll definitely be talking about Tom Brady. First, he has to put his foot on the pedal and win that 6th ring, just to remove any doubt from the average Steeler cheering mouth breather.

Bradshaw: 51.9% career completion percentage
212 touchdowns vs. 210 interceptions

Hopefully Goodell is happy with his refs that we dont have this matchup because of one of the most blantant ref screw-ups in NFL history.

As a Patriots fan, I would rather face goff than brees....but as a football fan that would be an entertaining matchup.

Both guys 40+, both the best at their position, both teams screwed by Goodell making their way to the big one....
Brady v Delhomme. Turned out to be one helluva game. No one ever talks about it.

Brady v Goff. Brady v. Foles. Brady v Brees. Who cares? I don’t want to see an entertaining game. I want to see the Patriots dismantle whoever they’re playing. Destroy them!

that hate towards brady will drop by 50% the day he retires, because then he would unlock every other fan from their living hell in football he's trapped them in

as each season passes, it will drop another 10%, 5 years after retirement, until the end of football, Brady will be almost unanimously considered the GOAT (rightfully so)

got to give the wounds of the other fan bases to heal....one man, name tom brady, has gone to more superbowls, than any franchise in the history of this league

the wounds are deep

With each year, Brees becomes more like Peyton Manning and Sean Payton becomes more like John Harbaugh. They lost on an egregiously bad call but honestly? **** em. Good teams win despite bad calls. Payton had no intention of owning up to anything and Brees only cares about his stats now.

You won't find any other QB that's humble or close to Brady/Belichick like Payton\Brees. They got royally screwed and so did REAL football fans.

Nobody wants to see Ryan Gosling in the Super Bowl. It's not interesting as a matchmaker like Brady vs. Brady

Was it a bad call? Yes. But the refs didn’t make Brees throw an INT Brett Favre style in OT.

Saints are boring, and their all black look is terrible. Rams already announced they are wearing their beautiful throwbacks. Aaron Donald scares the s**t out of me though.
I hate their uni-color uniforms too. The Rams throw backs are going to look beautiful against our aways (which I like more than the home)

I will get flamed but I would love it if the Pats could wear their all white throw backs with Pat Patriot in the game.

Geeeeeez... will the crying ever END??

This is what football has become, by and large due to the exposure of social media and replays going viral instantaneously.

As has been mentioned by others, the Saints had MULTIPLE opportunities to overcome. Brees even throws an INT after the play. You could argue the non-call on the pick play the Chiefs ran to take the lead late in the 4th quarter, giving TB12 only two minutes to overcome was equally as egregious. I mean, that play directly led to the other team scoring 6 points. Did the Pats hang their heads and *****? Or did they overcome? Or what about changing the catch rules right before the Superbowl last year? Pats ***** and whine about that or try to overcome? We lost the game on two very questionable catches by the Eagles that may not have been catches before that phantom rule change right before the SB.

I'm just done with all the crying about officiating. Get out there and get it done. If you lose, go home, re-group, come back next year and go to the F'N Superbowl! That's what winners do. Losers cry endlessly about calls that don't go their way when we all know every team out there gets several bad calls made against them every single game. Singling one call out as the deciding factor of a game is extremely misleading. Brees had plenty of opportunity to overcome it and failed. Rams executed. End of story. Great game.
