Pats have a shot. But to think that they will rather than can win is a bit of wishful thinking.

An interesting tidbit I came across this AM:

NFL final four: the first time in the Super Bowl era that the AFC and NFC Championship Games feature the top four scoring teams in the league — Kansas City Chiefs averaging 35.3 points, Los Angeles Rams 32.9, New Orleans Saints 31.5 and New England Patriots 27.3.
Poor Pats with only 27.3, right? You know the last time the Dolphins averaged that many points? It was 1984, the year a sophomore pro named Dan Marino was shattering NFL records including 48 touchdown passes and 5,084 yards.

Oh god, this should be quite a read...

It wasn't as bad as I expected, but it was really simplistic. He picked simple plays of interest and his analysis was mainly "Hightower got caught up on the RPO" and similar levels of obvious observations. It's not a trainwreck of an article, and may be useful for a casual fan, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone helped him get even that far. He's just not a smart guy.

Wow. Lot's of homers here. Sorry to pee in your Cheerios What about old man Brady in sub 0 temps? We all remember that young Eli Manning beating old man Favre in Green Bay. Farve looked cold! Eli did not. How will this team overcome the homer calls by the refs?! I was there in 2006 in Denver to witness one of the worst DPI calls I have seen. The crowd made the ref. change his mind! What about the noise and pass rush. They will have that 1/2 second jump or so that defenders get at home. Who can keep up with PM when he runs? KVN can't. They will double Edleman. Single Gronk and the other receivers. No DPI called in the playoffs so expect Gronk to be held all game. They always let them play. You wait and see. This will be close like the Denver games were but the Pats will fall short once again. Please bring on the red X's.
Wait wasn't it Coughlin who was cold?

Favre threw 2 TDs, had 0 running game.

Eli completed 50% of passes.

Do you recommend any good books to learn X’s and O’s?

If you are good with kids and have time, volunteer to coach Youth Football. From there you'll meet people who played/coached at higher levels. Just listen, learn, and ask questions. Youth programs can also go to the Glazier Coaching Clinic for free, which is 2 days of coaching classes on philosophies and schemes.

Anything coming out of his arse is always going to be tainted. He throws shade at everything Patriots. Can't recall a worse instance of passive-aggressive reporting.

He learned from Shank. Mannix was up there.

You're definitely entitled to your opinion. It's still borderline blasphemous to even speak Farve and Brady's (even 40+Brady) names in the same sentence! 2 totally different animals!

What if you're not allowed around children? Asking for a friend.

CT may barely be Pats country but I have no reason to believe Vermont are traitors.

One thing I hope we preach on defense is to stay with your man and not follow mahomes eyes. A play in particular mahomes got the Indy defenders to move where his eyes were focused allowing him to quickly throw cross field to Kelce (who he was targeting all along).

Simply put. Their offense is built around Kelce and Hill. There is never a reason to cheat when covering either.

I know it's cliche, but if the Pats are the more physically punishing team, they'll win. I think the cold exacerbates this. The human body is in a self preservation mode at such temps. Getting hit makes it want to shut down for further preservation. Would not shock me to see the Pats stack the box and come after Mahomes, being very aggressive, not waiting for the play to come to them. Also bodes well for a run-centric offense against what's already a KC weakness.

Regards,
Chris

Last year I suggested making a couple X/O posts where some of the rewatch regulars and X/O verse people try to explain basic concepts. But since everyone only has limited time there was understandably not too much enthusiasm for it.

Which is a bit of a shame because we have some extremely knowledgeable people around. Maybe with a SB title in the pocket his offseason we can put something together.
