Adam Vinatieri

I thought I heard he was done after this year. That said, if I were him, I’d come back one more year to wash tonight’s taste out of my mouth

Yeah, tough ending otherwise.

Uh, he’s also over a decade younger.
Meaningless. Vinatieri had a dog **** playoff game. Otherwise he is still one of the better kickers in the league. Gostkowski is a kicker who has **** his bed on more meaningful kicks than Vinatieri could imagine.

Anybody who laughs at Vinatieri's misses today is a grade A biggest Patriots idiot fan in the world.

Anybody remember back in 96 or 97, we were playing a game in kc, and Bledsoe had brought us back and marched us down the field and all viniteri had to do was kick a field goal to send the game into overtime?

Well he missed it and parcels almost cut him!

Something about kc just brings out the “miss”ateri in him!

It was 99 I remember because I watched that game in a bar in San Antonio and told the person next to me he's never missed a game winner and that he is clutch and he shanked it.

Adam vs. time, he owns a 750 acre "deer ranch" in Missouri, has made 47+ million in his NFL career.. sometimes "time" is a winner... do not understand why some guys continue these never ending seasons when they can just walk away and do what they want to do, smoke what they want to smoke and eat what they want to eat.. do not think the NFL lifestyle is that habit forming.

If I was laughing today it was because he missed his kicks for the Indiots. I wasn't laughing when he missed two FG's in the 2003 SB when he was with the Pats.

I remember that. I brought it up here in another thread but I wasn't sure of who it was against.

AV made some of the most clutch kicks in NFL history and will forever be a Patriots legend. That said his playoff career has been full of misses.

Since Vinatieri entered the NFL in 1996, he is one of 35 kickers who have attempted at least 10 postseason field goals. Of those 35, Vinatieri ranks just 22nd in field goal percentage.

I don't think it was 96 or 97, I thought it was 1999. That was right before the bye and the Pats sht the bed after that game and tanked the season. He went 0-2 that day and missed the game winner.

The Pats have never played well in KC and that game in 1999 was a perfect example of that.

AV brought my family and myself a tremendous joy we thought we'd never experience in our lifetimes. I will always love him and his career here.

Haven't paid any attention to his career in Indy, don't really have any interest in anything that shyt stink franchise or its moronic fanbase is involved in.

Great post Joker...i am with you

I'd take A.V. 10/10 over Gost in any postseason game. A.V. had ice in his veins. Remember the two misses in SB 38? He made up for it in crunch time.

Have nothing bad to say about him. Helped us win two super bowls. And after seeing other teams lose critical games because of misses you just have to appreciate that he made them for us when we needed it the most.

The two misses you refer to me means he didn’t always have ice in his veins. Not the best argument there.

The extra point looked like it was on the holder.

One of the FG's were blocked. He also saved the Patriots season by kicking a 45 yard fg in a snowstorm. SB 36 too. Having ice in one's veins doesn't necessarily mean they won't make mistakes. The question is whether he can rebound after a shaky moment. A.V. always could.
