They have some great weapons in Gordon, M. Williams, K. Allen, Ekeler...Pats D will have their hands full, will be a close game IMO

Great weapons, yes. But Rivers is the not pocket passer of the century.

Maybe they should move to Vegas instead of the Raiders?

Even more interesting...I forgot the Chargers played a "Home" game in London this year...so:

In their own soccer stadium, they are 4-3.

In the L.A. Coliseum, they are 0-1.

Outside of Los Angeles, they are 9-0.

Their losses: @Rams, vs. K.C., vs. Denver, and vs. Baltimore.

LAC have played five games against top 10 scoring offenses this season and have allowed 29.6 ppg in those games. Those offenses averaged 31.4 ppg for the season, so they slowed them down to the tune of 1.8ppg.

This was the most important part of your post. The Patriots will score on these guys, particularly at home. I saw a team yesterday that was up 12-0 at the half and could not get the ball in the end zone, as much because they played conservative every step of the way. They settled for field goals.

I posted during the game that the Chargers were throwing the ball behind the line of scrimmage and almost never past the sticks. Rivers looked like he had trouble getting the ball downfield all day. That's a problem since he's throwing into a superior Patriots secondary to the one he faced in Baltimore. I agree the pass rush won't be as fierce, but the line exposed its weaknesses yesterday.

Their travel schedule seems ridiculous. Flying back to the coast for a couple of days and turning around and flying back to the East Coast is a waste of two days travel. The Patriots will better use that time.

Granted, that was the first Chargers game I watched closely all season, but I am unimpressed and mystified about how they got to 12 wins. They beat the the Raiders 2X, the Broncos, the 49ers, Bills, Browns, Bengals, Steelers, Cardinals, Titans, Seahawks, and Chiefs. They lost to the Ravens, Rams, Chiefs, Broncos. In other words, they went 2-3 against playoff teams while the Pats went 4-0.

Today was the deadline to activate Henry, so it doesn’t tell us anything new about his status this weekend. It did sound like he was close to playing yesterday, though.

FYI: From what I can find, Mark Henderson would be 59 and he's still alive.. I can't find anything on him having passed.

That snow plow would never be allowed on the field in today's NFL though....

We would be docked a first round pick for sure....

the Chargers sold out on the run yesterday

They played quite a bit with seven DBs, including 3 safeties pretty much replacing the LBs.

OTOH, the Pats starting five OL are probably better run-blockers and the Pats play a little more power rather than speed.

Well while a lot of folks think this is the worst matchup for them I prefer to look at a different way.

This is going to be a hard game to win, for either team. But the team that come out of it will probably be in better shape to deal with KC or the Colts.

If the Pats dont win so be it, but I think if they do they will benefit from having to play a team very good on offense and defense.

...and does the "lights out" dance to rub it in.

I still laugh at that. I should have realized back then that he had JETE written all over him. That and when he sat on the bench the next year with an MCL injury that he could play through while Rivers played the entire game with a torn ACL. What a joke.

Completely agree. While I'd love to "warm up" against a flawed team given our troubles this year.....it is basically do or die time. We either will play a complete 60 minute football game in all three phases or we will go home early for the first time in 9 years.

They did but that was more to deal with Jackson and his speed. But they blitzed the hell out of them playing almost entirely in cover zero basically one gaping across the board and going man (going off memory).

Agree with the other statement. Still think the STs will be the difference in this game.

I would assume that the Chargers were playing with 7 defensive backs yesterday to combat Lamar Jackson running all over them but if they give us the same look I would expect to see a very heavy dose of Sony Michel.
